I had an accident yesterday late morning while feeding Sovina, before I went to the stables in Sandy to train client's horses, that I broke 2 of my back ribs!
I blame it on the crazy wild wacky weather we have been having, rain/mud/flooding/mudslides/fallen trees! The other side of Sovina's barn is an open shed area which has been closed off for the last 2 mths for pasture management, that the shed was like 3/4 flooded, I went through the muck to dig a temporary ditch to make the stream of water go around the shed (fun! not!), after getting it done, I got stuck in the mud/water in the shed that I pulled myself out by grabbing the panel gate frame, while I stepped onto the foundation of the barn, I accidently slipped down and fell backwards, landing hard on the cement foundation where I have the panels onto, thus breaking 2 of my back mid ribs.
A fracture leg last yr from ice skating and now this?? My daughter tells me I am getting fragile! *silent laugh*
Xrays shows 1 clean break and a half break so am on bed rest for a wk then update on the ribs..no horse training for 3 to 4 wks, at least I can still give riding lessons next wk (hopefully!). AM grateful have wonderful understanding clients, 2 of my clients came over just to hang out and pamper me today. Told em their horses get a nice long vacation til am back at work. *silent laugh*.
Guess Oregon and Washington has been declared state of emergency... how fitting!!! It is a MESS out there! |
