Message:   "Merry Christmas" everyone and I hope that all have a very happy and prosperous "New Year. Since Rob at this time does not have access to a computer he asked if I would relay his wishes also.
This year has been very hard on some of our members, some have lost loved ones and some have loved ones fighting for our Country and unable to be with there families.
I hope we all can take a few minutes of our time and say a small prayer for Peace in the coming year, the violence that we hear on the news to end and mankind can come back to appreciate his fellow man.
We were reflecting this evening on how in the last forty years times have changed. I remember when my Grandfather complained that the price of Alfalfa went up to $12.00 a ton, today horses are starving as people cannot afford to feed them. Food products are rising to the point that families cannot afford to feed their children as before because our Government is purchasing all of the corn and grain for bio-diesel. I heard that the price of bio-diesel will be the same as the price of Gasoline today so where do we win on that one.
I read a poem a few years back on "Dirt Roads" and it brought back so many memories of my youth.
Christmas was a time of family, not gifts so hastily bought as it is today. A mans handshake was as good as a written contract and people respected each other. We walked down dirt roads as children to school, our parents never worried about us being abducted or a child bringing a gun to school. When we rode our horses or went out to play all we heard from our Mother was " Make sure you are home for Supper" We did not have the expensive video games of Mortal Combat as the children do today, our combat was trying to make a cart big enough for our goat to pull. We went to Bible class on Sunday and listened to our parents.
Today, I cringe when I turn the news on. My heart breaks when I hear of the innocent lives that were taken by their own parents.
I guess I have placed a bit of a downside to my post but it is time for a change, it is time for people to help and listen to each other. Life is nothing but a flash of light in time and what we teach will be passed on.
God bless You All
