Oregon is having a mild crisis of unwanted horses, some are downright well conformation for the show ring, mostly due to high hay prices, gas, and living cost, not counting high cost horse boarding, that some owners of horses are just wanting to get rid of their horses than having to pay more $$ into feed, boarding. Horse boarding has went up mostly due to hay/sawdust/gas prices and caretaker. If Sovina was at a boarding stable & being a stallion, I would be paying $550/$600 a mth for full care !! Not many stables now days are boarding stallions due to equine/boarding insurance cost on the facility.
Training and Farrier and Equine Vet fees has went up too. Seems the equine slaughterhouses being shut down in the USA has made even more of a crisis.
