Message:   It is bad enough here in Oregon. Over a wk ago, Robin the Clackamas Livestock inspector was called out to Colton to look into 2 horses, one horse died of starvation and the other one was taken into custody. Seems the owner been trying to find homes for the 2 horses, than rather taking them to the auction. I was at the Eagle Creek Feed store the other day, the owner of the store has a Paint mare n foal for the last 2 wks, found wandering around the street and no one came forward to claim the mare and foal. Both are pretty nice stock, not show quality. I had told them to contact Robin to have the mare n foal placed into foster home to be adopted out.
Horse rescues are just starting to take horses to auctions cuz they are not having the funds to keep the horses.
Makes me wonder what 2008 will bring, heard gas prices is going to get worse!
