Message:   Someone deleted this post but I believe it should not have been so I am going to place it back on and my answers to it are included within his post:

Because of my posts on this board I received several emails that I want to address in public on both Sulphur boards so there is no mistake on what I am saying.

Thank you

Quite frankly I was a little surprised that some of these things would be sent to a total stranger.

I personally do not believe you are a stranger.

First, thanks to Elisa and Annette for your positive upbeat communication they were enjoyable to read but unfortunately in the minority. The negative emails I received came from members of this (ASHA) board aimed at discrediting other people, organizations, or animals. Why?

It was not to discredit anyone Pete, it was to clarify the reasoning behind the inspection process. There are some that should not be bred and they are or will be in the future. These horses are heralded as the true Sulphur type. You came on the board and we tried to explain as best we could the policies of the association. Reading the posts on the other board by a certain person was totally uncalled for, we did not discredit that registry on this board nor do we refer to them as ringleaders or followers.

Sherryl, the picture you sent to me has no information on age etc. but from what I saw, I will tell you that it looks to me like that mare has very prominent withers not unlike one of the worlds highest ranking Arabian stallions.

Pete, I had bred Arabians for seven years, I would greatly appreciate the name or photo of such a horse. I am still a member of the Arabian Horse Association, have close friends that are very avid breeders of the Arabian and cannot place to who you are speaking of. Surely, those that I know would not breed to a horse that was structurally unsound, the Arab is known for its soundness and ability for events such as endurance and sporting events.

On one of your other points, are you familiar with the phrase locks are made for honest people?

Honest people are those that stand on their own ground, from the day that the ASHA was launched we have been bashed for what we stand for. We have never discredited the other registry on our site or message board, but have withstood numerous stabs from the other side.
Pete, I have a question for you. If you seem to know so much about our registry why is it that Wiley does not see your IP address on anything but the index page? You have not read our pages to know anything about us or what we stand for. I truly believe that if you were to read our site it would enlighten you a bit and you may get a better understanding of who we are.

The same is true with testing, no matter what kind it is. If an unscrupulous person wants to be dishonest they will find a way around any of the requirements or tests. It might take a little more effort but they can do it if they really want to.

I agree, I remember when a person could take the Registration papers from one Quarter horse and pass it on to another of the same color. Then the DNA testing came to focus, this is very hard to forge/falsify when the initial test results are at the laboratory.

I personally will deal with people that have built a reputation of being honest people whether they have tests or not. Reputations can't be faked tests can.

Here I could answer, but not really knowing who you are I will let this one pass.

It is fine that you require such testing but implying because everyone else doesn't means the breeders are dishonest and the horses are always in question just doesn't seem realistic to me.

Anyone can register their horse in any registry they choose and I never implied that anyone was dishonest. This is your misreading of my words, I never mentioned that anyone was dishonest but the possibility is there.

You mentioned a half Sulphur in your email to me to which this further comment was sent: Totally, if Sunny was bred by Leo and Kathy or really Sheri, they probably would have no problem at all trying to pass him off as a purebred Sulphur.

I did not make that comment and to Kathy and Leo there is a apology sent. Yes, I could of sold Sunny as a full Sulphur and without DNA testing he would pass as such.

>Kim All I can say to that one Missy is you are opening yourself up for some major legal actions unless you have proof that these folks have sold horses fraudulently.

Kim did not state that Kathy or Leo have sold Sulphurs fraudulently. I got that mail and you are wrong on that statement.

Why would you say something like this to someone that was interested in these horses? What is your purpose of bashing other people to someone you don't know? I posted originally on this board because I was interested in these horses because of their uniqueness, history, and other qualities.

We all welcomed you Pete and tried to answer your questions the best we could. If you did not understand completely what we were telling you you could of mailed us privately and not taken it to the point is is now.

I have been met with rudeness, accusations, and evidently a war I was not aware of.

I did not respond you you rudely, I offered a welcome to my Ranch to visit and talk about the Sulphurs and the ASHA. I am proud of my horses, welcome anyone at anytime to visit an answer questions.

It's too bad the horses have to suffer because people prefer to be hateful, vindictive, and destructive.

Hateful, vindictive, and destructive, if I truly believed that you were who you state you are I could tell you of some statements made that were truly hurtful.

What have you done personally to promote these horses? How successful has it been? Are you working with others to help the horses?

Since you have not been on any of the ASHA pages I guess you have not read the story on Sulphurs Chance or the Sulphur showcase, you know nothing of us.

Do you care about the horses or your own egos?

This is not about Egos Pete, I have bred horses too many years, 34 to be exact and know when to quit listening to those that have no idea of what they are talking about. We do care about the horses, if we did not we would not have started the ASHA. If some do not care for our policies or what we stand for that is fine, as I stated before I have been this route with the Quarter horses. I do not want a Quarter horse with 3/4 TB blood and I do not want a Sulphur with mixed blood either.

Since I do not know any of you I guess it will take further investigation on my part. I will start with the BLM that deals with the Sulphur horses and go from there. But in the meantime maybe all of you should look at what you are doing for the horses by slamming the people that are involved with them. Are you really being "nice" people and are you really doing the horses any good? I think not.

I wish you luck in the future Pete and my invitation still stands.
