I just had to make a comment or two. When I openly asked the ASHA and SHR how each felt if I registered my horse in both registries, I was told by both, that neither had a problem with the double registry, and that it could only promote my horse to do so. The conversations I have had with members of each registry have been quite accepting to me.
I have appreciated all who have taken the time to share their interest and love of these horses.
As of yet I have not applied to either and feel no pressure from anyone to do so.
Let's continue to try to keep the board as an informational tool. I know that is what I like to read, it makes me uncomfortable to feel as though there is suppose to be some sort of side that I should be on.
Pete, come to Utah and visit our place too. I have a great personal friendship with the BLM representatives. I only have one Sulphur horse, but he is awesome! He drives single and double, team pens, reins, and just finished certification through FEMA for search and rescue.
I love to hear what owners are doing with their horses and that is why I stayed tuned in to both registries.
My ultimate goal is to start breeding purebred Sulphur performance horses, i.e., reining, cutting, team penning, etc. I would even spend the money to do embryo transplants if I could find a superior mare and stallion. I have several good old mares that would make great surrogate moms.
Thanks for letting me ramble,
Annette |
