Diploma in Counselling
Hi there, I have just completed the ABC in Counselling concepts and skills and thinking about to beginning the Diploma in Counselling. However, having spoken to someone recently who completed this course, they have warned me how difficult it is to get paid work after completing the Diploma. Apparently it's like a vicious circle you need to get your 450 hours accreditation after the Diploma but because most employers only employ counsellors with accreditations subsequently many newly qualified counsellors have to gain many of these hours doing unpaid voluntary work. Any advise please, how true is this ? Would especially like to hear from anyone in Kent. Many thanks Debbie |
