trees in dream

There were two trees reaching towards the blue sky. One was standing directly behind the first. Both were the same shape..slender and beautifully shaped but in a swampy landscape. the trees were old and seemed dead but they were in unison with each other...I was the first tree..end of dream

Re: trees in dream

Joan,
I apologize for overlooking your dream. Let's see what I can come up with.

Trees often represent personal growth, strength. These would represent assets or aspects you possess. The sky may represent expansion. It could symbolize a spiritual connection.
The trees are the same but behind one another. This may suggest two aspects of your life, one in the present, followed by one of the past. Your past and present.

The swamp may represent insecurity. The dead trees, in unison, may indicate the emotions from your past that remain in your present. You are the first tree, you in the present. The other tree would be your past.

This for me would represent a comparison, reflection on the past and the outcome of who you are in the present. At mid-life we tend to look back, see the old and reflect on how it evolved to the present you. What past experiences/emotions from the old you still remain in the present you. That may be the comparison. A normal aspect of mid-life, looking back and comparing.

Any recent experiences where you looked back and compared it to the present?

Re: Re: trees in dream

Sincere thanks! It is exactly what you say! I have been dealing with an experience from my past which continues to drag on me..however I am really trying to get to the "root" of it. It is an emotional situation which I am determined to bring to the light for further deeper healing! Thank you so much for your truly invaluable help. I have had tremendous personal healing from paying attention to my dreams. Aren't we wonderfully made and healed through caring people such as your self making this available for the world! Joan

Re: trees in dream

Joan,
Again I apologize for overlooking your dream post. I try to address each post but sometimes time plays against my wishes. I still have to pay the social dragon {work} even though I have lessened that burden some it often gets in teh way of my deepest desires. I look forward to the day I will be able to put all my time in my dream work.

As for the roots of your problem. I suggest you go back in the past where you believe the problem began {or even earlier} and examine the minute details. We all are formed starting at birth {actually in the womb} and past emotional experiences, especially during childhood, often form who we are as we age. Unconscious emotional events which may be buried in the deep unconscious are often the culprits in an unbalanced adult life. I speak from experience, personal and learned {from my working with dreams}. You may want to keep a log of future dreams to help you sort this out. Since you have given it psychic energy {by thinking about it and taking time to post it at the Forum} there is a good possibility future dreams will reveal more. Or if there are other circumstances you wish to reveal perhaps that will provide insights to the roots you are looking for.

Re: trees in dream

Joan,
Later today I will look at both of these dreams and see what I can come up with.

Re: trees in dream

Joan,

It may help (if you feel ok with it) with interpreting both dreams, to share what the emotional situation is that you have to deal with.

There are two patterns I see between the dreams. The tree and the cross are related and being side-by-side. One dream is in the vertical and the other is in the horizontal (Jesus dream).

Stephen
