Access session stays open. Is this normal?
I am using Mars to send Access reports to my fellow employees. The only complaint I have is that after a report is sent, Mars seems to leave Access running in the process list. So, I can't open any of my databases until I go into Windows Task Manager and end the Access task. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? |

Yes, in order to maintain stability, MARS does keep a session of MSAccess open by design. We would recommend that you install MARS on a different PC to the one you normally work on. You don't have to move the database, just point the schedule to the database at its normal location. That way the scheduler's stability is maintained on a dedicated PC without impeding your ability to open databases on your normal PC. |

You can also open an Access database without killing it from task manager by opening a new instance of Access and then selecting "File -> Open" to select the database to open. This will save you from having to install MARS on another PC. |
