Great Lesson for the kids...Thanks Mr. Iven
Well as someone who is trying to teach my kid about our great sport and the sportsmanship part of racing I was very dissapointed to see some of the actions of a seasoned racer in a big car that should know better. We watched Mr. Iven race against a blue camaro and lose, then after picking up his timeslip floor the gas through the pits without thinking of who or what could be in his path. Then after returning to his trailer went to the officials and argued with them until they put him back in the race. During the JR. races he will probably lose more than he wins, but when he loses, take it as a learning experience and use it to get better, not as a reason to get mad. Mr. Iven, you need to take your losses like a man, and think about who you could have killed flying through the pits like that. I know if it was my track not only would you not be put back in the race, but you would have been asked to leave immediately. Jacob |

Jacob, I am pubically apologizing to all racers and spectators. I was wrong. There was an issue at the staging lanes that you are unaware of. I have already apologized to Nancy for my unnecessay actions. What the issue was is unimportant, we got it straightened out. Again, I apologize to all my fellow racers and spectators and any fan that I lost. I hope that anyone that saw what I did will accept this from me. Thank you for your understanding. |

Bobby, I know what incident you was talking about, along with the sun, heat and emotions, it was a long day and mistakes happen, I dont look down on you at all, I totally respect you as a new friend and good driver. Its unfortunate that sometimes our emotions can make us make mistakes. Lesson Learned and Appology Accepted. Believe me, there were some that showed emotions as well. Tim |

THIS is an example of GOOD SPORTMANSHIP! hats off to Bobby Iven! It's very easy for a "third party" to find fault in someones actions. It takes a very BIG MAN to admit his mistakes and to do everything possible to make sure that mistake is only made ONCE. I've always been a HUGE FAN of the Iven family racing, the WHOLE FAMILY is involved and it's obvious they love the sport. Drag Racing needs MORE IVEN FAMILIES!! P.S. If I said I "never lost my temper at a race" I'd be LYING. |
