Maybe a good idea
What if we could talk to track into on any given saturday in september to open for the bracket team members for practice for the bracket finals? No pay out, no points, just practice. every run would be a dial-in format. since it will be a month and a half from the last race to the finals, I would like to do this. No test-n-tuners, just the team members. I would be willing to pay something like $20 to do this. Anyone else's thoughts about doing this?

Remember it use to cost $2300 to open the gates, so maybe we are going to have to pay more to offset the track's cost to open for us. Anyone got an idea how much it would cost to rent the track for a day? Chris |

i think it's about $2400.00 so if you have a team of 50 and everybody shows to practice, thats about $50 each. |

Maybe it would be cool if the track could meet us 50-50? You know, we support them, they support us. but I would still pay more to have the practice if needed. Maybe Jay can give us winning lessons, LOL. Wouldn't that be cool if Angleton won the bracket finals championship.

It shoudn't cost as much for a private session. See what Ricky would rent it for with minimum staffing. Pat might hook you guys up as well. |

Since you guys would be racing at a IHRA Track, you would definately need to have EMS as a standby, however, Since I would be there anyway for the EMS, I would donate my time and work the Starter to cut down on cost for Ricky :o) Im sure Nancy could work Staging, could get one of you guys to alternate working the water box...lol That would leave Bryan or Shelby on the Computers unless Pat could handle that as well. That would leave someone to work the front gate, the concession stand and you would need a Tech for cars. Wow, I have mentioned some names and will probably get an ear full...hehe These are just Ideas, speaking for myself, I would donate my time for Ricky and get paid by Pat :o) Tim |

One more note to consider, if you guys and gals come up with a plan and want to do something, just give Ricky a heads up on a sound decision on what you guys and gals (Suni) want to do. Tim |

I'm all for the idea of practicing for the finals and paying $20 or even $35 per racer. Perhaps they can help us out by letting our children in free (if any), since they won't really be spectators that day. I will be happy help with the water box or at the starting line, or wherever I am needed when the electronics cars run. Perhaps they want to help when we run... I think this will benefit the racers and the track, because then we can be better prepared to go to the finals and kick some booty, and put Angleton Raceway on the map !!

Just checked the PVR schedule and they're open and bracket racing every Saturday in Sept including the weekend before the finals. Thankfully its only two hrs away. As I'm sure you know your numbers will be somewhat different there as opposed to Angleton. If I'm fortunate enough to qualify for the Outlaws team I'm going to try to ease up possibly the weekend of Sept.27 for their non-points bracket race and some test&tune. However the schedule at the finals allows for multiple passes for dialing the car with seperate races on Fri., Sat., And Sun if someone couldn't make it up till the finals weekend. |

Just got the word that Pine Valley is running 1/8 mile bracket races, so we will probably go practice there once or twice before the finals. |
