A Jewish / Yoga epiphany

I just realized something I'd like to share with other Jewish Yoga practitioners.

Raja Yoga, the "Kingly Yoga" is the combination of all of the various strands of yoga. Yoga means "yoke;" Raja means "king."

In Judaism, we speak of the "Ol Malchut Shamayim" - the YOKE of the KINGdom of Heaven -----!!!

Ol Malchut = Kingly Yoke
Raja Yoga = Kingly Yoke

Is'nt that wonderful? Pass it on...

On the same thought line, I've been combining pranayama with davening - it's the BEST!

Thank you for that - if this kind of association interests you - Bill Heilbronn's article Jacob's Ladder and the Anatomy of Meditation on the Links page of this website contains much that would be of interest.

Om shanti and shalom
