Volunteer Opportunities in NY

I am trying to get in touch with Barbara Nilpirom. Pastor Grandgeorge replied to my e-mail regarding volunteer opportunities for young people in NY. I work with a group (14) of youth between the ages of 10 - 15. We have done volunteer work in our hometown and in Charleston, SC. I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for our young people to experience volunteering in a northern city. I feel this would give them a great chance to meet other young people in another area of the country as well as see the needs of people in a different part of the United States. We would be open to anything such as painting, cleaning up, etc. Our church is Olney Presbyterian Church and was established in 1793 in Gastonia, NC. We are a part of the Western North Carolina, Presbytery.

I realize we would not be able to afford a hotel in NY City, but perhaps we could find less expensive lodging just outside of the city.
