Because, Billie, it seems many editors have forgotten the main reason they became editors. Editing has become a job for them, something they muddle through during the day, just to say they've done it and reached their quota for the day. They've lost their passion for the written word. And, most importantly, they've lost all memory of what it’s like just starting out. How sad that is! Keep trying, Billie. Don’t let these people get you down.
