Can anyone tell me of a medicine that is a

substitute for dapsone. I live in The Yukon

Canada and the drug is unavailable here,

and I have been told that the drug co.s

no longer manufacture it because of

decreased demand.

Any help would be appreciated

There is a query in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section (FAQsin the Side Menu)about availability of dapsone in Canada. It gives a link to the Canadian Special Access Programme. However the link has been upgraded and changed.

If the Canadian scheme operates like the UK system, then drugs are supplied to a specified pharmacy on a"Named Patient" basis, following an order accompanied by a confirmatory letter from your own doctor.

Hi Bernie, I also thought that I could no longer get any Dapsone. I went to the doctors recently and he was able to fill a prescription at the pharmacy at the Dermatology clinic. I guess they have the ingredients to make Dapsone capsules. This was great relief to me, because I also thought it was no longer available. Now I don'd know if there is a pharmacy where you live that can make these capsules. But maybe it can be sent down to Calgary and shipped up there. Let me know, I will gladly make some phone calls for you.
