I wanted to pass along a great discovery I made for OTC topical relief for rashes - sunburn / burn cream / spray with benzocaine or lidocaine. It works much, much, better than any kind of steroids and I usually apply it around 2 times / day. My favorites have been Alocane Burn or Anti-Itch Cream and South Beach Sun Lidocane Sunburn Relief Lotion, both from www.drugstore.com I figured the best approach was to treat my rashes as if they are second degree burns and to try to numb my affected skin, and it does reduce the intensity of the burning and itching.
