Time to be symptom free

I'm DH. Once I go Gluten-free how long does it take to become symptom free of the rashes?

Thanks

Re: Time to be symptom free

Hi John

As i understand it, it can take upto 12 months for the rash to subside and thats if you manage to maintain a truly strict GF diet. Gluten seems to be hidden in so many foods particulally processed ones.

The good news is that Dapsone will clear the rash completely within 48 hours. Your dermatologist should have offered this treatment to you and if they have not then you should ask for it. My rashes of 20 years cleared up overnight, I went from blood stained sheets to totally clear skin, it was amazing!
I understand that a few people react badly to Dapsone and it should not be used in the very long term, only until your body is clear of any gluten.
I was started on 100mg daily about 6 month ago and now take 50mg every other day. I've had no side effects and in fact feel 300% better.
Don't suffer with the symptoms unecessarily John, go see your doctor.

Regards
Alan.
