LORD's political system Vs. Roman's system

Our present day political system is inherited from the Romans. LORD's political system is described in Judges, Old Testament. The present day system cannot dispense justice promptly, and suffers many shortcomings. I hope we will discuss various aspects of LORD's system (Vs. Roman's system) and the feasibility of its implementation. But any topics of interests to Christians are also welcome.

You are welcome to discuss Book of Mormon here.

If you have read the Book of Mormon the first time over, sure you will have many questions, but you will be sure that it is true history of Mayans, a true history of a branch of Israel, of the tribe of Joseph, the covenanted people of the LORD. The knowledge that the America Indians are Israelites will be a delight to your heart. Yet questions are inevitable, therefore feel free to raise them, discuss them here.

Below are my suggestions where you may get more information.

  • Use the search engine GOOGLE or any other search engine of your own liking, enter keyword "Maya", and look for photos of Maya relics, and compare them with the description in the Book.

  • View as many documentaries on Maya relics as possible (from BBC, or National Geographic, or others). TV stations would occasionally show films of archaeological sites in South America, and you should avail yourself of those opportunities.

  • Read the book, Views of Hebrews, a book published in 1823, several years before the publication of Book of Mormon, by a person who investigated deeply into the customs of the America Indians, and came to the conclusion that the Indians are of Hebrew origin. This book is extremely valuable, as it is an old book, published even before the Book of Mormon was published. It gave me much information, and I think it will do the same to you, if you read it.

  • There were 3 witnesses to the gold/brass plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated. They were (a) Oliver Cowdery; (b) David Whitmer; (c) Martin Harris.

David Whitmer was expelled by the Mormon Church. In his old age, he had written a book "An Address to All Believers in Christ". He spoke on the fall of the Mormon Church. He spoke in sincerity and uprightness. You should read his book, and you will know more about the Mormon Church.

Martin Harris gave numerous testimonies of his witnessing the brass/gold plates. Martin Harris was a good old Christian, and his testimonies is worth reading, (but not necessary reading at this stage).

You should have found peace and steadfastness in the persons in the Book of Mormon, which contrasted with some persons in the Bible. The reason being that they had the MOST ANCIENT TEXTS SINCE ADAM, ENGRAVED ON GOLD/BRASS PLATES, written by ancient, godly people who lived to extremely old age, more than 900 years of age! They also had many prophet books mentioned but missing in the Old Testament.

Moreover, Nephi had extremely good understanding of the Book of Isaiah, especially on the meekness and submissiveness of Jesus to the will of GOD,

The LORD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, I turned not backward.

I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to those who pulled out the beard;

I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

For the LORD GOD helps me; therefore I have not been confounded; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know I shall not be put to shame, he who vindicates me is near. [Is 50:5-7]

Therefore you would find their children -- the Hawaiians, the Polynesians, the New Zealand Maoris, the Australia Aborigines -- meek and gentle and honest and without guile.

They, the branch of Joseph, are a sharp contrast to the Jews in Israel who "overshoot the mark" ("self-righteousness").

The Jews would not kill a chicken for dinner themselves, because they fear they would make it "unclean", therefore they send the chicken to be killed by one who meticulously observe all cleanliness rules of their own design! How could such a people find acceptance before LORD ?

People of all nations have gone astray today. But the children of Joseph, who demonstrate such meekness, gentleness, honesty, chastity, child-like purity and humbleness, firm in keeping commandments, will be a righteous people to the model of the world one day.

One day, they will know that they come from Israel, and they will turn to LORD, holding fast the Bible and the Book of Mormon as their two pillar books, and they will be a people acceptable, and pleasing, to the LORD.

A letter I sent to someone on my view on Book of Mormon

Dear Mr. xxxxx,

Say, if someone in an Confucius Organization practised polygamy, and married many wives, would that make Confucius' Analect false ?

Book of Mormon were written by Israelites who emigrated to America. It was NOT written by Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormon Church.

You must have read the Bible several times, so I assume that you know the history of Israel.

The Israelites in the time of Jeremiah did many wrongs, and LORD GOD repeatedly warned them to repent, through the words of prophet Jeremiah, ...., or else they would be destroyed.

Unfortunately, the Israelites would not repent, nor listened to the words of LORD not to resist Nebuchadnezzar, therefore LORD intended to destroy Jerusalem, through Nebuchadnezzar.

However, there was a highly godly man in Jerusalem, Lehi. Lehi was a very godly man, and he attempted repeatedly to plead to the Israelites that they repent, but they listened to him not.

Just a few years before LORD GOD destroyed Jerusalem, LORD GOD told Lehi to flee from Jerusalem. Lehi obeyed, and fled to Arabia Peninsula, with his family and with the family of one of his friends.

When Lehi fled, his sons brought the holy books, their genealogy with them. And the sacred books in that time were written on GOLD PLATES using hieroglyphs of old.

Lehi wandered in Arabia Peninsula for 8 years, and at last, LORD GOD told them to make a ship, and they sailed to America. All these happened around 600 B.C. (600 B.C. is the year they left Jerusalem).

They established the Maya kingdom in America.

The sons of Lehi, as well as other godly men, recorded down their history on gold/brass plates, again using hieroglyph.

However, unfortunately, the sons of Lehi were in enmity with one another, and in around 420 A.D., one branch (the present day American Indians) totally destroyed the other branch, the Mayans.

Therefore the Mayans had a short history 600 B.C. to 420 A.D.

The last Mayan in possession of the holy records, Moroni, buried their records for fear of being destroyed by the American Indians in around 420 A.D.

Through the years, the American Indians became totally wild, and so they were cut down by the Westerners.

I have read the Book of Mormon many times.

I do not refrain from reading other books. I use the Bible as plummet -- if a book agrees with the teachings of LORD and Jesus in the Bible, I accept. If a book does not agree with the teachings of LORD and of Jesus, I reject.

I do not find any devilish teachings in the Book of Mormon.

However, Joseph Smith, the person whom LORD GOD directed to uncover the gold/brass plates, and translated (through the hand of GOD) into the English Book of Mormon, fell at some stage.

He was beguiled by devilish spirits, and he wrote a book, called "Doctrine and Covenants", claiming to be words of GOD through him. That book is devilish. But the Book of Mormon is not.

Therefore it is my sincere wish that you read the Book of Mormon, and FORM YOUR OWN OPINION.

In a previous email, you said that you have not read it. Yet you take it as one of the witchcraft, devilish books, based on conclusions formed by others.

If after reading the Book of Mormon yourself (you should at least read a few pages, or even 1 small book within the Book of Mormon, which has many small books just as the Bible has), and you think it is false, then you write me no more.

......

Lastly my advice -- even if all the people say something, and WITH YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT, YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY, you should stick to your own. Did not Elijah stand apart from all the Israelites ?
