Can anyone point me in the direction as to find out where and how S/Sgt. Lewis's plane went down. He was my dads cousin and date of death is listed as 22 August, 1943. Still listed as MIA.I am in the process of trying to obtain his military cemetery marker. Apparently no one ever thought of this. All he has is a homemade concrete block(which is broken in half and unreadable) in our family plots in s.e. Oklahoma. Along with trying to get his stone or plaque, I am also trying to gather information. oh yes, he went down on a bomb run either over Italy or somewhere in the Med. He is listed on the Wall of the Missing in the Sicily/Rome American Cemetery. My V.A.service officer here in Oklahoma is also trying to locate and gather information.
