Searching for the Reddy Teddy out of Sardinia..

Can you help? I'm looking for a plane called the Reddy Teddy which flew out of Sardinia in 1944. My friends father was a radio operator/gunner and was injured by flak over Rome Italy on a jan 21 1944 mission. He wants to know more about his dad and his unit. The name is Henry William Sampson, but he often went by Bill Sampson. He was from Minnesota. Bill took a flak shot to the head that day and was discharged due to his sevre injury.

Bill bought a boat and named her after his airplane which was called the Reddy Teddy. I found a B-26 out of the 34th with that name. But they can't find his name in their unit book. I think I found a B-25 with that name out of the 320th. His discharge papers say Sardinia, he received a purple heart and flying medal for his injuries..

If you know of any other planes named Reddy Teddy out of Sardinia in 1944 please let me know. Remember the plane would have been flak damaged probably on the rail road bridge mission over north Italy.....
