I am searching for anyone who may have known my father, T/Sgt Herbert J. Wurtz. He was with the 319th Bombardment Group, 439th Squadron as a Radio-Gunner. Don't know who he crewed with but believe he was based in Sardinia. I have a listing of his missions (60 total) dating from 12-18-43 thru 11-23-44 mostly over Italy with a handful over France and one over Yuoslavia. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers him or can direct me to more info on his time in the military.

I am updating my own inquiry here. In looking at the photos that are posted up by Mark Pope, in picture #67, the man kneeling 2nd from right looks very much like my dad. Maaybe this will help jog someones memory. Does anyone know any details about this photo?
