recurring dream about husband smoking cigar

Hi, there. I have been having a dream that I don't remember a whole lot of. The only part I remember is seeing my husband pick up a cigar, lighting it and coming towards me. When he's coming towards me it's in a loving way, not a hostile way. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Re: recurring dream about husband smoking cigar

Lori,
In the world of Freud the cigar would symbolize a phallus. As such if your husband was coming toward you in a loving way perhaps it represents some aspect of that part of your relationship. He had to light the cigar, could that have any significance {i.e. Viagra, or possibly something needed to 'light his fire'.

Re: recurring dream about husband smoking cigar

Thanks for the information. I wonder if it's possible that the lighting of the cigar signifies the fact that I feel that I don't light his fire but to him I do? I appreciate the feedback because all of the research I did made absolutely no sense. Thanks again.

Re: recurring dream about husband smoking cigar

LOri,
That could very well be true. He is picking up the cigar, lighting it and coming at you. Those actions could represent the true insights of your unconscious {dream} and if he thinks he does light your fire then it would match those unconscious feelings.

Now the questions becomes 'how do you get him to really light your fire?' Or are their internal barries that may prevent that? Pay attention to future dreams to see what they have to say about the subject.
