Fire

I had a dream that the city i live in caught on fire, i was with one of my coworkers and we both had the same car but in different colors and the cars were consistent through the whole dream, we were trying to save them. We were inside of a ladies house when it caught on fire and after we all got outside she told us we couldnt leave because there was a 20ft flame over the city. when i looked over it was a flame off of the stratosphere (the casino) soon vegas was on fire. then my friend and i were stuck on a railroad track between two long never ending walls and we were surrounded by fire on the opposite sides of both walls. then after the fire ended we were on the other side of the wall with two guys that looked similar. the hills in the distance were smoking from the fire and spellign out code. i decided to write about the situation in my diary and couldnt decide between a blue and black pen, when the smoke code said "blue is okay" we continued to walk down a hill and the guy that was with me died in my arms, i told him to "sleep with the moon" . we all ended up meeting up with my coworkers and driving away. when i came to a border check, the security lady almst arrested me because my licesence was suspended i told her i had to drive because i had to save my life, i was also smokign a cigarette and she told me no smoking on the other side. on the other side it was colorful and bright like the fire never reached it. i drove into the distance.

Re: Fire

Brittney

At first glance this dream seems to be a window into the drama of your life.

The way I see the symbols and theme is a massive transformation / rebirth occuring in your conscious world (the world you live in = Vegas). Fire is a symbol of destruction and subsequent rebirth, like the phoenix, seen here in the destruction of the City, completed by the final vision of the colourful and bright countryside on the other side of the border.

Given your age my hunch is that this could relate to the shift in your world as you move out from the protective wing of your parents and into reality, it could potentially equate to such a massive conscious change as would be symbolised by a fire burning away all pre-concieved notions of the world, and the new awareness of reality growing out from this.

Another theme of the dream is saving yourself and your car. The car is often considered a symbol of the self. But what are you saving yourself from?

The fire could also be symbolic of an unfolding drama of some type in your life. Did you know the lady who's house you were at when the fire started? It may be involving this woman, or perhaps chance or gambling related to the casino where the fire started, or both? You may need to save yourself from the 'fire' of this drama (could be related to co-workers due to the co-workers presence).

Now I am going to get more specific here, this is how I would go in depth were this my dream (but different people have different meanings so this may not apply, just here food for thought more than anything).

There is a reoccuring theme of negative addiction. The need to be saved, the casino being gambling, the smoking at the end of the dream. Considering this with the image of the railway track. I see this as the only safe place from the fire. The fire is blocked out by the walls, a path through the fire. I sort of see it as the 'cold turkey' concept until the fire (desire?) burns out.

More later, must run.

Re: Fire

Sorry for the interruption.

What I was going to say is that the imagery of going 'cold turkey' in this addiction is the symbol of the cigarette that has to be put out at the border. On the other side of the border it is no smoking.

Then you 'ride off into the sunset' / cross the border and drive into the distance of your brighter sunnier future.

That is basically what I would get from the dream were it mine. Oh, and to help figure out the bad addiction I would look to the co-worker as defining / re-inforcing that as she also needs to be saved from the fire.

If that doesn't apply, I at least hope it helps give some direction as to how to decode the dream.

Sweet dreams,
Rook
