Yellow/white snake

Who can help me to explain my dream ?
Last week I dreamed and now everything seems to be go wrong.
My dream:
"I was holding a yellow snake in my hand, his stomach was white. I looked at him but he was not moving, so I thought he was sick, and I brought him to my veterinarian. She lift up a scrub of the back from the snake, looked inside, it was white and then she put the scrub back down. She did this 3 times and then she said there is nothing wrong.
At that time I waked up.

Re: Yellow/white snake

Sil,
It often takes a day or two to receive a response. Usually less.

I have a question to what you mean by the word 'scrub'. Since this is such a short dream every word may make a difference to the dreams intended message. Do you mean scrub as in scrub bushes?

Other than that the dream could easily have a 'Freudian' take to it. Freud saw everything as sexually related within the psyche. Could your dream be sexually related? Since the snake {phallus} was sick the dream could be addressing 'sick' sexual aspects. In the dream it is a female who sees nothing wrong with the snake. The masculine believes there is something wrong. Perhaps something Viagra could fix? Or it could be sexual relationships overall. Have you had problems with the other sex as of late, having a hard time connecting with women?

Look at the MDS Dream Dictionary {above and in the side bar} to see what the colors yellow and white may represent.

Another possibility is the snake has nothing to do with sex at all. The color of the snake may say something to its meaning in the dream. Yellow on the back, white on the stomach. Snakes often symbolize a transformation in some aspect of life {an end to one phase and the beginning of another as an example}. Are you going through any major changes in your life? Changes that may have come to a standstill, not moving or progressions as they should or expected? The veterinarian in your dream is a 'she' which may suggest those feminine aspects {anima within your psyche see this 'transformation' as healthy and not sick as believed by those masculine aspects. The snake, in transition, would be you. The feminine aspects could represent the emotional aspects. Perhaps emotionally you are able to stay strong but physically, or the physical aspects of the transition, are not proceeding as you would like or expect. The good news would be, if this is about transitions or changes occurring in your life, is you are able to handle the process emotionally. The physical aspects, the mechanics, usually fall into place when there is a strong mind and desire to succeed. If it were the emotional aspects that were sick then I believe success in the transition would be less likely. In the dream the female vet {emotions} would see the snake as being sick.

But again the word scrub could be important. Dreams speak primarily in a language of symbols and metaphor {the snake would be you or an aspect of yourself}. A scrub or bush may represent something hidden inside the unconscious. The word back also could represent the unconscious. And looking inside could be 'looking within yourself', connoting looking within the unconscious.

What is you life about today? Are you going through any major changes? At the age of 39 you are right at that beginning stage of the 'mid-life transition'. It could be the dream is addressing those subtle but noticeable changes in general. Less vigorous, losing your edge competitive wise, perhaps having a bit of trouble 'getting it up', all signs of aging and all natural aspects of getting older.

For such a small dream this is a lot to offer up. But where we may be late in providing a response we usually make up for it with possibilities.

Re: Yellow/white snake

Thanks for your reply Jerry With scrub I mean the scale ( I took my dictionary ) of the snake.
At this moment there is no man in my life so the firts part falls of.
But I think about changes, and sure it has to do with my age. In fact I'm Dutch and I live for 10 years now in France. I was thinking to go back to Holland, but I don't know what to do, time is also running... but time also gives answers...
I will come back tomorrow, because I have to go sleep now, it is here now 01h00.
Merci encore et a demain...

Sil,
I will need to do your dream interpretation over again. I was thinking you were a male. I didn't look to see your gender, a fault of mine I am guilty of at times. It may not affect all of the interpretation but could very well change enough to make a difference. Will do that later today.

Re: Yellow/white snake

Sil,
I'm sorry to learn about the passing of your Godfather. Were you and he close?

After looking at your dream with the knowledge you are female and not a male {sorry for the sex change} I can see a different interpretation. In mythology the snake is often seen as a symbol of rejuvenation, a death and resurrection sort of image that is often found in our dreams {the snake sheds its skin and grows new skin}. I look at this dream in another light and see that it probably is addressing such aspects. The ability to change {hand} those things you wish to change is not moving as it should. The 'she' in your dream would be that healthy feminine aspect {veterinarian}, an aspect that is capable of healthy what needs changing to facilitate those desired changes. My sense is by looking 3 times {again, the number 3 may have meaning in your recent waking life experiences} and finding nothing wrong, your desire for changes, rejuvenation of your life, is a psychological barrier that you can overcome by just wanting to do so. It may be there is a lack of discipline in getting where you want to get. Or emotional barriers that are not concrete but merely a source of thinking 'I can't'. The color of the snake, white and yellow, may indicate the path is clear {white} but the thinking is not so clear {yellow}. It may be just a matter of how you think, a matter of changing your thinking from 'I can't' to 'I can'. It may be a simple matter of 'justing doing it'.

Re: Yellow/white snake

Sil,
The best to you in your search for a better life. Joseph Campbell, my spiritual mentor, once said, "The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are". If you can learn to be who you are and not what others want you to be, there are those helping hands {what you would call angels} that will provide whatever you need to find harmony and bliss to your life.
