Good morning!

Early this morning, I had a dream that I was by a poolside. There was a man standing in the distance (a friend of mine) watching me. There were quite a few other people lying by the poolside (there was a lot of blue and white clothing), but nobody swimming. I removed my clothing except for my swimsuit and remember feeling very confident about my body. I walked over to the the pool and then decided to go to the deep end (usually in dreams, I have a fear of deep water where I cannot see the bottom). The water was very blue (as was my swimsuit). I remember feeling very happy as I just jumped right into the water. When I came up, I felt really good. Then I looked over toward the man to see if he was still watching me, and he was.

I woke up feeling really happy.

A couple of aspects to your dream that stand out. One is you were not afraid to go into the 'deep' end of the pool in this dream, whereas there is a fear in other dreams. The second would be the confidence you have being seen in your swimsuit after removing your other 'clothes'. My sense is there are two issues being addressed in this dream. And the 'clues' to those are in the aspects I mentioned.

Removing your outer clothing {conscious ego perception} and 'revealing' the swimsuit may suggest experiences that give cause for recent confidence to do with self esteem issues. It may involve physical appearance and/or deeper issues of confidence. The dream may be pointing you to look to these recent developments and build upon those experiences to continue your self confidence.

The 'deeper' aspects would have to do with early life issues. 'Jumping' into the deeper end would be aspects of the deeper unconscious and may suggest you have recently overcome 'emotional barriers' that had prevented you from feeling good about yourself. Whatever the experiences, they have helped in you feeling comfortable with aspects of yourself {barriers in the deeper unconscious}. If there are other possibilities to expand on these aspects/experiences I suggest you examine them because they seemed to helped with overcoming early life barriers to do with esteem and self confidence.

Thank you Jerry. I have spent a great deal of time lately delving into my childhood experiences, a place I would never allow myself to revisit before, afraid to mar my memories. This has allowed me to "remember" my true self and find my passion and loves, and I do not feel the fear I once did of being myself. I am positive this is what the dream is showing.

I am curious about what the blue color could represent, as it was seen throughout the entire dream?

Also, it almost felt like my ego stepped up at the end of the dream where I was looking toward the man to see if he was watching me.

The blue may represent positive aspects as well as masculine aspects {pink would be the feminine}. If indeed you have recently explored your childhood, the blue may be pointing to those positive aspects of being brave and courageous {masculine aspects}. The blue and white clothing may symbolize these positive inspections of early life, the white perhaps aspects of new birth from realizing a need to let the old self die {clothing would be the outer self}. Blue water {water would symbolize the unconscious} would also point to positive aspects of exploring unconscious aspects related to childhood.

The ego self stepping up could be your emotional self, which is what controls the ego self when there is a lack of Individuation, stepping up to a need to be brave and courageous in your inner search. The positive masculine aspect {the man in the dream was a 'friend' of yours} taking control and delving into the inner self. The animus is encouraging you to 'jump into the deeper end of the pool'. going within the unconscious and see what is there. Exploring the inner paths, your won psychology, is a positive step toward Individuation.

Overall this is a positive dream reflecting a positive step in your life.
