snow

hi gerard it's been a long time since i asked for an advice/interpretation. i wish that you can help me again on these three dreams which occurred three consecutive nights..the first one , a fly went straight into my mouth that i salivated while trying to remove it with my fingers..i saw it in another person's body whom i don't know or i haven't met but the feeling of catching a fly in the mouth was so real. i don't remember removing it or swallowing it..the next one,i dreamt the other night that i felt i was like in the movie behind enemy lines, i was being chased by i don't know that i was so scared..what i remember most in the dream is that i dug into the snow which is shaped liked a lake before and i found a pink notebook, i flipped the pages, there are writings on it, blue ink, but i didn't read it..the writings were unconventionally written all over the notebook then i can't remember whether i put it back or not, i woke up because i was so scared that i'll be caught. i thought the notebook would get me into trouble..

then last night, it seemed like a continuation of that dream but the land of snow which is shaped like a lake turned into dirty/muddy water there was a black statue far from where i stood which looked like the singapore merlion at times looked like a big panda, i saw my female student swimming and then she smiled at me without showing her teeth..i noticed that i walked on the edge of the muddy water on barefoot that i tiptoed because it's dirty.. i remembered that i got into that area when i reached the top of a bare apartment which led me to the muddy water and then upon looking at the statue i panned to the right and saw a camping house and i thought i saw my male student before that i wanted to see but when i was almost near him i felt afraid that it would not be him and then i woke up..

please help me, because when i searched for the meaning of the fly ,i learned that i have false friends..i thought it has connections with the water and snow..please help..thank you so much for your kindness..

Re: snow

Kate,
Here are the possibilities I see in these dreams.

The fly in your mouth may symbolize guilt feelings. You may not be able or are unwilling to express this consciously {fingers in mouth}. The other unknown person is you, your unconscious self.

The second dream looks to be addressing repressed or yet unexpressed emotions. These aspects are 'chasing you', wanting to be confronted and made known so the healing process can begin. Your emotional state of mind may be at the point of needing to express something consciously {writing in blue ink}. But you put this back into the unconscious, afraid of the emotional energy it will have on your conscious self. The pink notebook would be an unconscious record you are afraid to open because of its contents. There may be guilt feelings involved, perhaps to do with 'purity' {snow}.

The Third Dream
Something is 'dirty' about these unconscious aspects. The panda is an animal that is black and white. The 'merlion', a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish may suggest, along with the black and white panda, opposites or emotional conflicts. Unconscious forces that could 'devour' you {consciously}. The fish is your true self, it may have be devouring by the unconscious contents. The swimming student is you also, the smile without teeth may suggest a lack of confidence {personality trait} due to unconscious contents, something you are unable/unwilling to express consciously. The camping house may symbolize the 'support' from within {the house is you}. The male student, seeing before wanting to, may represent a fear of masculine aspects, perhaps a lack of ability to confront what is deemed as dirty and because of what was learned/experienced in early life.

Are there waking experiences you can point to that fit with the above? Is there something you are afraid to open up to, an experience that could devour you emotionally? Any feelings of guilt from your past? Your response may provide insights to other possibilities or clarify what we have already discussed.

Re: snow

thank you so much for interpreting my dreams..with regard to unexpressed emotions, i believed that i've dealt with those in my waking life so i can't trace any guilt feeling since i am more outspoken or assertive now..the only thing that worries me a lot is about paying family bills since i am the eldest.. :) i appreciate your interpretation perhaps there is something i need to look into that i might have missed.. again, thank you and happy new year!

Re: snow

Kate,
The financial difficulties could apply to parts of the dream. But I do believe if you look deeper into the 'unexpressed emotions' you will discover more. I take it you come from an extended family {having to take care of father/mother/siblings} That alone would suggest emotional strain. Cultural amplification of family history would also suggest your taking responsibility of the family is ages old. From childhood you likely were aware of such responsibilities. Now that you are at that stage of responsibility your psyche
is trying to sort through the tremendous pressures. Instead of being able to lead a life where you can expand your horizons you are stuck in the usual cultural position of responsibility. There is no room for growth of the creative spirit {which is needed to be a whole person} you must direct all your energies to family. Have learning to better express yourself may not be enough. You would need to put your deepest desires into actions. You are not too many years away from a different stage in life {mid-life} when the whole self takes on more importance. Having to become the bread winner at such an early age matures you faster than if you were able to live a normal early adulthood life. Does this portrait of an extended family fit you {picture}? If so, and you being someone who has begun that inner life examination, your psyche would be in conflict to cultural responsibilities opposed to the desire to be a whole person {the natural process in life, one that dreams help fulfill by exposing those aspects out of balance}.
