cat/rabbit

I was trying to prevent two cats from killing a rabbit. One cat was a cat I own and another was a long black haired cat that had the colors blue and green on it. The black caught the rabbit and I rescued it and it became a pet?? I did read what a rabbit meant in a dream and it hit the nail on the head for me. Cat a little bit, not sure what the combination means.

Re: cat/rabbit

Tammy,
I would be interested in knowing what meaning for a rabbit you found that fit. There are many good possibilities, especially in a short dream like this one where there is little descriptive action and not many symbols. It is the motif {pattern of action, behavior} that often tells as much about the dream as does the symbols.

Since you had to rescue the rabbit there is a good bet there is a 'victim'. That would be you in some aspect, you are a victim. The rabbit would represent that aspect in your psyche. So would the cats. They also are aspects of yourself/psyche. There are two cats which often suggests conflict, emotional conflict {that creates the motif}. The one cat you own may suggest something already conscious. The black cat may represent something within the unconscious, which when realized/acknowledged, will be beneficial to your personal growth {blue and green colors}. The unconscious has stored this knowledge and is keeping it to yourself

Where in your life does being a victim fit? An experience you may have put away or repressed into your unconscious.

Re: cat/rabbit

The rabbit interpretation fit because I feel I need to be happy with myself, love myself for who I am.. As for victim, in the past I was a victim of physical abuse with the father of my children but we have been divorced for 6 years. We all have little contact with him since he has moved away. The only other thing I can think of is my recent (6 weeks ago) abdominal hysterectomy, just my uterus was removed. Not sure if that makes me a victim.

Re: cat/rabbit

Tammy,
From your statement the rabbit then would represent a need for a positive outlook for yourself. But that isn't possible because of the physical abuse by your ex, you are a victim that needs to reconcile that emotional conflict. He may be out of your life but the emotional pain remains. It will remain until you reconcile the experiences and are able to put them into a place where they no longer have a control over your emotional life. That may require counseling.

But there may be deeper aspects to the dream. What was your childhood and early life like? Was there any emotional or physical abuse then? Because there are two cats there may be two experiences the dream is addressing. This is standard with dreams. There is always at least two meanings/applications to every dream.
