Baby tiger

In my 2nd dream, I am at my neighbors and they have a baby tiger and three kids running around. The baby tiger goes outside to play but pretty soon we hear screeching and I realize it sounds like a red tail hawk. I look out the window at one point and the tiger is hanging on to the hawk by the tail as it is trying to fly away. The baby tiger lets go. Soon, a much bigger tiger is tromping towards the scene and begins wresting with the baby tiger. the scene then jumps to me trying to leave the neighbors but one of their sons (about 14ys) begins to wrestle me to the floor and I cannot get up. I finally get him off of me and tell the father as I am leaving.

Aside: currently my relationship with my mother and sister is strained.

In my first dream, prior to the tigers, I dreamt I was at my sister's wedding, (she is remarrying after a divorce). I am the matron of honor as is another friend. The ceremony starts, many guests. At the end of the ceremony, I realize that I have been in my pajamas the entire time, coffee has spilled all over and they are stained and the friend has taken over duties as matron. I quickly change but into a pants suit - not the planned dress. WHen I try and speak to my sister, she is upset and calls me, repeatedly, an eye sore and a nuisance.

Re: Baby tiger

Ann,
The first dream first since dreams usually follow up on one another. I see two possibilities to it.

In the first dream the coffee stains likely have something to do with the 'stained' relationship you have with your sister. It is something that needs mending {wedding and marriage}. But there may be deeper issues to do with some relationships involved. There may be unconscious stains from earlier life experiences. It has to be all business in your relationships..

Is there something about transitions {weddings} in your life that has a stain on it? A time in life {teens perhaps or earlier} where you had expectations that were stained due to some experience. Have you taken an attitude you must control situations to do with relationships instead look at 'all' relationships more on a objective scale? When you attempt to reconcile these opposing emotions {wanting a relationship yet weary of them} you feel the burden of past experiences and have not allowed yourself amend your feelings.

In the second dream I sense there are repressed feelings from childhood that may have to do with sibling relationships. There is a need of 'letting go' of those aspects to do with these experiences. In later life you are having to wrestle with these emotions. Are there any particular experiences during childhood or adolescence that let a mark on you {the boy at age 14 years}? Something that 'knocked you down' and you are still struggle to get up from?

Re: Baby tiger

thanks so much for your response. you've hit the proverbial nail on the head - and quite squarely I believe. I couldn't see it for myself but as I read your response, I knew. Yes, there are many past experiences that burden me these days. I feel their weight daily and as I take each day as it comes, I am trying to navigate so as to keep myself healthy and do what is best for me and, subsequently, my husband and children. My relationship with my sister can never be what it was, it was too unhealthy. I had turned over the keys to my self-esteem to her, and my mother, and I have just recently begun taking back the control. It's been very difficult. I am mourning the loss of a relationship that I only presumed I had - which, as it turned out - was a very unhealthy one. The burden of my past experiences...

As for the boy wrestling me to the floor, I wonder, when one has had an experience in childhood, you've think you've dealt with it, or moved past it, it still creeps in, I wonder if ever it stops coming back? Like the weight of the boy holding me down, I thought I had dealt with some childhood abuses, but they come back. A new angle, another memory returns and I feel as if I am back to square one. In my dream, I had broken free of him, gotten away. I remember thinking how heavy he was but I did break free. I am going to focus on the fact that I did get out from under him and I'll do so again and again, for as long as it takes, I guess. I have to.

Thank you.

Re: Baby tiger

Ann,
It ends when you resolve the emotional issues associated with the experience. The weight of the boy on you is not only a reminder of the actual experience but also the emotional weight you continue to carry with you. Thinking you had resolved the issue only to have it return may suggest not only it not being resolved but other related issues involved also being unresolved. You have yet to completely break free from the experience as well as related issues involving the experience.

As for focusing on having been able to get out from under him, doing that in your dream {called lucid dreaming} may help with resolving the issues. Not only does it let you experience a release from the weight but also by taking control of the unconscious dream experience will help you take control of the conscious memories. It has a lot to do with controlling your life and one big step in doing that is tackling the issues head on and not letting them continue to manifest it self. Complete resolution will allow you to begin a new phase in life.

Post other dreams related to this experience if you have them. They may provide insights to why the experience is so hard to resolve.
