Help with my dream

Hello,
Can someone help me interpret this dream

I can not fully recall the dream. What I do recall is I was on a bridge and I jump off the bridge and landed on the bottom of the ocean. Everything was crystal clear and I was surrounded by a rainbow of beautiful colored fishes. Then I saw a map of the world under and I was touching different Continent. I felt I had to touch certain parts of the map. That is all I remember

Re: Help with my dream

Anne,
A bridge is a connection between two things. In dreams is usually represents a connection between conscious and unconscious contents. An ocean is symbolic of the unconscious and reaching the bottom would suggest deeper aspects. When you 'jump' into the deep unconscious you will see clearly your true self. A rainbow is a bridge between your ego conscious self and the higher, spiritual self. Fish is also a symbol of the true self {which is centered in the creative, spiritual aspects}. It is also symbolic of personal growth {which is what happens when you discover your true self}. The map is an 'inner' map of yourself. Touching a different continent may suggest you are touching on a new aspect of yourself, especially those parts that can transform you into something 'higher' {better} than you are now.

Are you undergoing a transition or transformation? It may involve issues of personal growth, creativity and/or spirituality. The fact you are on the bridge in the beginning of the dream may suggest you are at a point of making important decisions in your life. When and if you finally make 'the jump' you will realize things that were not clear in the past.

Another possibility is the dream is addressing psychological issues that will become clear when you bring them up from the deep unconscious. You need to 'bridge' unconscious contents to conscious knowledge {repressed, forgotten or ignore emotional issues} so you are able to see the true self and the emotional issues. You realize these unconscious emotions will bring you to a new land within yourself and free you to be your true self.

Let me know which {or both} fit in your life. The more I know the better I can help you understand the dream. If there are other recent dreams that may help understand your current life you may want to post them.

Thank you for taking the time to help me interpret my dreams.
For the last year I have been quite unhappy and trying to figure out what to do with my life. I have been praying and asking for guidance, as I feel lost confused as if my life is pointless. Although, I pray I sometimes question the significant of my prayer. The night before I had this dream I was wondering why is this world the way it is and why can't I achieve any of my goals. What you wrote really makes sense.
Thank You

Re: Help with my dream

Anne,
Thanks for taking time for a follow up response. The transition I spoke of is something that affects you deeply and this is felt not only consciously but unconsciously. The unconscious aspects would be the emotions that you are experiencing and they are deep. So much so there are probable times they consume you. This is what dreams are about, the emotional conflicts in a dreamer's life as well as possible ways to resolve the conflicts [merely by presenting the conflicts in a dream there is a therapeutic tool to help recognize they exist}.

But I sense something more in the dream language {symbol and metaphor}. In the dream, when you reach the bottom of the ocean {deep unconscious emotional stimuli}you are able to see clearly. This language may suggest if you are able to get past the emotional aspects and focus on progressing in your goals you will see clearly which way to go. In other words you may let the emotions get in the way. I also sense from the dream there is an immense aptitude of abilities to be awoken if you only let your true self rise to the top {a rainbow of beautiful colored fishes/true self}. there are certain aspects you possess that need to be 'touched'/released. This probably is addressing issues of your foundations {childhood} and barriers from those experience/influences but I also sense the dream is pointing to specific aspects you possess that you need to focus. What talents or abilities do you possess that would make you a happier person if you were able to use them in your life? that may be what this part of the dream is speaking of.

Note: All dreams and images in dreams have at least tow meanings/applications. One usually deals with the the building blocks of childhood and early life that affect you emotionally and the second focused on present day emotional issues and experiences. One is tied to the other since the building blocks of who we are affect what we do in later life.
