Guinea pig Dream

Well, i had a very odd dream again, very different from the others i have been having lately. It started as i was on a bus... sort of like i was on a feild trip. there were other kids there. we made a stop, and i guess we were on some sort of a farm. We grabbed animals, and each student was given one. Mostly they were rabbits, but i got a Guinea pig. I was very afraid he would bite me, so i kept trying to hold his teeth away from me. somewhere along the line he tried biting me, but my jacket blocked his teeth from sinking in. Next stop we made, was to kill the animals. I was so disgusted by this thought, that i held the Guinea pig close, and when the woman tried to grab him, i sort of like, flinched, and said "no". she let it go, and i kept him. i was supposed to talk to someone about this though, and soon enough i was at a desk, talking to a.... teacher? but it was still at the farm sort of place. I remember thinking how heavy the guinea pig was, so i asked to set him down. the teacher set out a stack of papers for me to set him on, and i tried, but the papers kept moving around, so i was unable to set it down. I just picked him up in my arms, and said something like "Its okay, you're my burden to carry now" and the guinea pig sort of smiled...? he seems happy, and he snuggled up against me, like he was accepting me. I smiled as well, as if i was happy. We tried walking back to the bus, but soon enough something happened, like.. creatures..? of some sort blocked the way.
The dream shifted several times, but this one was the dream that stuck out in my head the most. I would be happy if you could give me an idea as to what it means. Thank you.

Re: Guinea pig Dream

Mel,
My sense of the dream is it is attempting to communicate your desire to be a part of the crowd you have to associate with but have had difficulties in doing so. Are you the shy type person? A part of the reason for this, other than possible personality traits, is you are turned off by the 'normal' crowd attitude. You are more prone to get involved in things that help with personal growth than the outer worldly things most kids you are are involved with.

There may have been a recent experience that amplified this. It was a learning experience and from it you have to learned to accept the 'crowd's attitude and have embraced the challenges that go with it. It is a burden to have to 'play' the game because of all the weirdness {creatures} that you come across and get in your way of wanting to fit in yet still be your true self.

Does this fit with how you feel and who you are?

Re: Guinea pig Dream

I Have social anxiety, and because of that i am extremely shy. Recently, i was sort of, forced into social situations that, at first rather sucked, but afterwards, i realized that it wasn't so bad. As for that, what you're saying makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

Re: Guinea pig Dream

mel,
The social anxiety issue does come through in your dream. The good thing is you analyzed the situation and saw it was not as bad as you thought, or felt. Being able to be objective in these matters is most important. Instead of seeing things strictly in a tinted view {ego} you are able to look at things and determine the truth. It wasn't as bad as you though probably applies to many situations in life. This is true for everyone.
