Daniel,
My sense is the dream is pointing to certain unconscious attitudes you possess that keep you from expressing anger in your life. These attitudes would be a result of sensitivity to situations where other people let their tempers get the best of them {look to family}. You have learned to hold your emotions. But you can only take so much before your emotions get the better of you and the anger does come to a head. You can block out most of what occurs but one particular experience is too much and pushes you to the extreme.

Does this fit somewhere in your life? Recent experiences may be pushing you to the limit and even though you have been able in the past to hold your temper you may be at a point of eruption.
