Red Powder?

I rarely remember my dreams. Usually if it actually means something I can't get it out of my head.
The dream started as a middle school field trip to a fair. I was running late, and very anxious about people being angry with me. I hopped on the bus and all went smoothly during the ride. I had a few people glare or smirk at me, but nobody spoke to me. I just watched out the window. Everyone was in a rush to get off the bus and had left me behind while I was trying to gather my items in a black backpack. There was a classmate waiting for me who was quite frustrated with me. He told me, "hurry up or we will be stuck here working all day!" At that point people started coming up to the bus, which became a food truck. There was a feeling of urgency to get the line of customers served quickly so that I could close down before more showed up. A couple of my classmates showed up and were upset to be working. At some point I noticed an older woman making a salad with tomatoes, Basil and cheese. No one else had noticed her. She layered it in a mixing bowl, basil, then tomatoes, then the cheese on top. When she noticed me watching her, she smiled and nodded for me to join her. She put a spoon in my hand and sprinkled a red powder from a pouch at her hip into the bowl. She had me repeat words in a foreign language after her while she guided my hand in stirring it. After we both ate a bite she disappeared. When someone else took a bite, it made him sick. He was curled up on the floor holding his stomach, screaming in pain. I felt very calm and relaxed after eating it.
Upon waking up my husband asked if I was OK, I didn't seem myself and was silent. The entire day I felt strange. Not in a bad way, but more of a peaceful, reverent way. Similar to when I would meditate while listening to the music at pow wows growing up, or when learning from an animal totem. It was a very spiritual thing.

Re: Red Powder?

Amber,
It will likely be Sunday before I will be able to provide an analysis and interpretation of your dream. Along with the holidays I have a couple of sick cats {I care for feral and community cats}. If possible I will get to your dream sooner.

Re: Red Powder?

Amber,
My sense of the dream it is addressing issues related to current life stresses {running late, things going smoothly, frustrations} but may also be focusing on deeper emotional issues as well {as with all dreams there is at least two meanings/applications}. The later would be related to the image of the older woman which could be your mother in one sense and possibly you s an older person in another {which again as with every dream each image having at least two meanings/applications}. The stresses in your life today may be related to personality traits, your personal growth as a child {basil, tomatoes, cheese representing emotional nourishment and the 'red powder' being stronger emotional energies}. What needs to be 'noticed', and this would be a primary focus of the dream, would be how you handle stresses in life due to issues of personal growth earlier in life {inherent tendencies or/and early life experiences that govern who you are today}. The foreign language is the need to better understand something that is not consciously understood. The guide would be the older woman and once you lean what governs your life as an adult {early life experiences/issues} you will know better who you are. Once you have discovered these deep psyche influences and work to resolve any issues the negative energies will disappear and you can be your true self. A lack of understanding may represent masculine traits {he being sick}. That may be pointing to negative masculine traits you possess which, when exhibited, produces negative actions on your part {which too would be a result of early life foundations /floor}.

One way to look at your dream is to take all the people as if they were you or aspects of who you are. Wit the 'she watching her' both she and her would be you, with one being an unconscious aspect watching the conscious self with a desire to make unconscious contents conscious {nodded for me to join her}. The 'he'in pain would be masculine aspects {as mentioned}. Overall I believe the dream is addressing personality traits/issues that have to do with how you manage your life in the present day. These issues need to be made known and understood, correcting what is out of balance. It is then you will be able to be calm and relaxed, having resolved the issues that cause you respond to respond with negative actions in everyday life.
