Re: breaking into friend's house

What feelings may this dream indicate toward my deceased male friend? The last dream also included me trying to get back to my home. I don't remember if I was trying to make any excuse to get back home where I felt more comfortable or at home. The truth is I don't know how I really felt about him. I feel like we probably would have departed as friends if he was alive today due to a major difference in politics. Although he treated me nice, I don't know that he really cared about me since he treated his mom nice, but it didn't seem to matter to him if she died. We had a break in our friendship when he died, but I was thinking of visiting his house the day he died (I didn't know it then).

Re: breaking into friend's house

Tory,
The dream language "I don't know if I pick the door lock, find his house key, or just open the door if the door was left unlocked' was likely addressing your indecision on how you really felt about your late friend. My guess, or experience from working with dreams, such indecision indicated you had deeper feelings than you realized. In fact after re-reading the dream, and with this new info, it is quite possible the whole dream is addressing that issue. You relax like it was your house could represent feeling 'at home' with him. Then you felt anxious which could point to not having expressed your true feelings toward him. But knowing how you really felt needed required you to break in {to your unconscious emotions}. Perhaps you never knew your true feelings because you were unsure of his feelings toward you. The 'broke in like he invited me over' could be pointing to you looking for an indication of his true feelings.

As for the deeper issues I would need to know more about your childhood and the relationship with your father or/and other close males. Was there anyone who fit with this same scenario? Not knowing your true feelings because they {male} never demonstrated how they felt toward you?

Re: breaking into friend's house

After he died, I realized what a good friend he was most of the time or what caused the break between us was a little thing. I miss having someone who is there for me like he was, but I didn't have romantic interest in him although he told me he wanted more with me. Although we were good friends, I never knew if he really cared about me or if I was important to him. I just knew that he was nice to me or interested in something romnatic. Or I didn't know if it would be ok with him if we could just be friends. Maybe I was afraid I'd lose his friendship over that and our break had something to do with that. I think my deeper feelings may relate to my regret of not trying harder to hold our friendship together or it wouldn't have been that hard if I tried. I did feel like home with him because he accepted me even knowing most of my flaws which I don't reveal to most people. I'm sure he revealed lots to me that he didn't reveal to his male friends. I never told him what his friendship meant to me, but I wasn't aware of it at the time.

I'd say there are a few others who fit with this same scenario, but I never became friends with them.

Re: breaking into friend's house

What about the relationship with your father? The dream is probably addressing unresolved issues with your late friend. But it is also addressing some other anima aspects.

Re: breaking into friend's house

Early on my father demonstrated that he hated me or his kids out of spite for my mother. I suppose I never knew how to feel about him or what my feelings are because he didn't treat me well.

Re: breaking into friend's house

There is always relationships to childhood experiences and influences to adult actions. Your personality and personal attitudes are built on early life years. What you witness/take in even in infant years are set in granite in the psyche. Continuous influencing actions as in with parents constantly arguing} are recorded and are most likely to be demonstrated in actions later in life. If one or both parents smoke then it is likely you will smoke {although attitudes toward smoking are changing because of reports on health concerns}. Your actions/reactions with your deceased friend may have been related to your development in early life. If you look at that relationship and that with your father you may discover things about yourself.

Re: breaking into friend's house

Wouldn't you say that most people don't know how they feel about someone or won't allow themselves (protect themselves) to fall for someone unless that person has feelings for them? What I mean is you usually doesn't know how you feel about a person unless you date that person or get to know that person better. So, if you don't date a person, you will have no idea of that person's feelings for you or no idea of your feelings for that person. I haven't dated most men who I don't know how I feel about them.

Re: breaking into friend's house

As I walked by a group of young teenagers at a store yesterday, the female teenagers asked a male teen why he was staring at me. Maybe this is why I had this dream about young teenagers. In my dream, I was in a social setting and told that someone wanted to say something to me. I was escorted to a music band who were sitting in chairs in front of the room next to a video screen. They were young male teenagers. There were a couple of cool looking band members with leather jackets (oh, my impression of the young male teenager at the store was that he was trying to act like a cool kid) with a nerdy looking band member. It was the nerdy looking band member who had something to say to me. I was told to watch the video. I guess the video was supposed to reveal how he liked me. As I watched it with no facial expression, he looked at his band members like oh no, she's not interested or doesn't like me. I was just trying to figure out what he was trying to tell me or didn't mean to hurt his feelings if I did. I was also uncomfortable being put on the spot. The other band members ignored me. Later when I was surrounded by a group of female teenagers, I asked them if they thought I looked young like a teenager since I didn't know if that band member who liked me how old I really was. If a male I didn't know did this to me in real life, I think I would have the same expression on my face.
