Hello Kathy,
I read your response to a dream about night terrors and you mentioned our bodies create a chemical that keeps us from acting out our dreams while we sleep. I have often woken up with no ability to move and have seen and heard things which probably is a little lucid dreaming (although a few times I have been too awake for me to be sure it was from a dream) Anyway, my question to you is, can you help me to either understand this strange occurence or direct me to a website that might have some information for me to read? I haven't had much luck in finding explanations so far.
Thank you!

The following site is an excellent place to learn about sleep paralysis and contains in depth info and several links including one for sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming. If you want to internet search for more info try the term sleep paralysis. Of additinal interest is this site delves, although not indepth, into SP and myth & legend.
To date I recall personally experiencing SP many years ago although only a few times. I do remember at the time I was under much internal stress due to work. It can be very frightening especially with the hallucination aspect!
Hope this helps...
Thanks much,
Kathy

Thank you Kathy. I am going to be doing some research. I have briefly visited the page you suggested and when I have more time next week, will be studying it more closely.
