I have been having a reccuring dream for the past month or so of being pregnant. This is such a satisfying dream and brings on such a feeling of contentment and calm that I am often annoyed when I wake up and lose the feeling. It often involves lots of rubbing my belly which is very large and often naked and there's a real sense of connection to the baby. I sometimes have the feeling that I'm not ready to be pregnant but just enjoy it anyway.I am wondering why I keep having this recurrinng dream so often ? and what does it mean?? Can anybody shed some light on this??

This may be simply reflecting a waking desire to be pregnant. Perhaps you’re maternal instinct is responding to the biological clock and/or perhaps you have friends or associates that have children or are pregnant so this unconscious desire appears in your dreams.

On a deeper level pregnancy can symbolize a beginning, a new development or cycle in your life either you have, want or need to begin. Perhaps you’ve been contemplating following a life long dream, seeking your Bliss. The rubbing may represent the actions necessary or a desire to bring this about, like rubbing a lamp to bring out the genie to grant wishes. Also, it could indicate nurturing this idea or Self. Naked is sometimes a metaphor for total honesty or exposing one’s unconscious thoughts. That you feel not ready could be what prevents you from embarking on this new direction, cycle or dream. Enjoy it anyway could be the unconscious showing this is what you truly desire and what is right for you, your Self.

Perhaps think about what changes or direction you’ve been contemplating and how they relate to your ‘manifest destiny’. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but hesitated to do because you were unsure if you were actually ready for it?

Also, many times reocurring dreams indicate the importance of the issue to the inner Self. The unconscious will make repeated attempts at communicating because the conscious may not understand or even deny the importance and the actual issue.
