Henderson County Hunger Walk 2019

Henderson County Hunger Walk on September 21, 2019

On September 21, the Henderson County Hunger Coalition will hold their 2019 annual Hunger Walk to raise funds for those in Henderson County who do not have enough food to eat. For many years before 2018, Bill and Phyllis Seibert participated in this event and asked for your support. Last year, Sandy Marcus and Phil Taylor participated in the walk and appreciated the support of many Fleetwood residents.

This year, Sandy Marcus and Phil Taylor will again be participating in the walk. And we respectfully ask for your support to help feed our neighbors in the community. All the funds raised by walkers go directly to agencies that help combat hunger in Henderson County. Any administrative expenses of the Coalition are covered by grants from sponsoring churches and synagogues. In our community, about 20% of children are “food insecure” – that is, they do not know when they will have another meal. If you are interested in more information about this event or the Coalition, please go to hendersoncountyhungercoalition.org for more information.

If you wish to support us, you may make a contribution in total or pledge by the mile (walk options are 1-2, 5, and 10 miles in length). Your contribution or pledge can be left in one of our mailboxes, mailed to Sandy at 203 Fleetwood Plaza, or mailed to Phil at 1104 Fleetwood Plaza. Checks may be made out to “Henderson County Hunger Coalition” or “HCHC”. Contributions are fully tax-deductible, as the Coalition is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.

Thank you for considering support of this very worthy cause.

Sandy Marcus and Phil Taylor
