When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,  to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.  They are there for the reason you need them to be.  Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.  Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.  Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.  What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.  The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

There are many different responses to crisis. Most survivors have intense feelings after a traumatic event but recover from the trauma; others have more difficulty recovering — especially those who have had previous traumatic experiences, who are faced with ongoing stress, or who lack support from friends and family — and will need additional help.

The Sister of a fallen Rider Needs your help!

My brother was killed 4 months ago in a Sport Bike accident. He was popping a wheelie in a controlled area and lost control. His front tire came down, wobbled and he slammed into a parked fullsize pick up truck. He was only 19. My brother was an avid rider, its the only thing he wanted to do in life. He was a student at Motorcylce Mechanics Institute in Orlando Fl and his dream was to open his own shop. My family has been crushed, he was not only my brother but also my best friend. I am reaching out to you all to find out if anyone here knows of any Sport Bike Awareness groups in the State of Florida or Michigan that I could get involved with. I have decided that I want to dedicate myself to the cause whether it be through helping in administration or by going out and speaking publicly. If anyone could please help me, I would really appreaciate it. God Bless all of you.

The organization has brought attention to motorcycle safety awareness by conducting annual public workshops on safety related issues, developing videos and presenting motorcycle safety awareness programs around the state. Volunteers teach motorcycle safety in high school driver education classes and to civic organizations. Working with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, ABATE has been able to post billboards along Florida highways that bring increased public awareness to motorcycle riders.

Hello Garry,

Just a thought that came to mind. I am only familiar with Oregon. But thru the "Oregon Department of Transportation" they give "Motorcycle Rider Safety Course Certifications at various times and places thru the summer. It is a possibility they may want speakers or ????

Maybe this could be of assistance to Jackie Thorp and others.
