First I would like to say hi to all. Love this site.
My girlfriend and I were traveling not far from home when this truck decided to run us over. We tried to get away from the boy but he kept on till he ran us over. They caught him about three miles up the road stoned out of His mind. He told the FHP that He didn't hit anything. They took Him back to the crash site and He denied everything, Until fifteen whitnesses pointed Him out. Then He confessed He had been drinking and doing drugs. Said He had a bad day.
I used to love the road. I've road bikes all my life. It was a way to unwind And relax. I loved every minute of it. But after the accident, all I can do is freak. Oh I got back on, but all I do not is watch every intersection ans car pulling out. Im on edge and I have obsessive thoughts about wrecking . It even has effected the way I drive my truck. Im not going to give up something I love dearly, but the mental anguish is wearing me out. Got any suggestions ? Thanks for the help.

Mee Too. I got nailed by a LOL, [68] back in Jan. Kawasaki KLR 650. I was coming up a local country road 6 miles from home, just got dark. The LOL popped out of her VERY obscure driveway without checking for traffic. She was charged, but she got the case moved all the way to May. I will recover to 98%; Broken Femur, Tibula, & Humerous. All clean breaks & 2 broke through the skin.

I'm 57 & this is my 2nd serious bike wreck. The first was in Germany in 1979; paralyzed my rt arm & shoulder, but mostly recovered. So I'm done with bikes, at least til I retire at 72. They are SO MUCH fun, but it's too much exposure to pain & aggravation.

I'm looking for ways that I can contribute to another biker's safety. Is there a motorcycle safety newsletter that summarizes selected accidents? That always gets peoples' attention & could inform riders about the contibutory factors that caused the accident. Things they could avoid.

I lost a brother a year ago, had 3 more people in my chapter hit within 6 mos after that, and got off my ass and got busy.
If I can save one single brother or sister from being hit, it's worth it.
