Welcome to our forum. This is the place to get questions answered. I will answer as many questions as I can so feel free to ask. Remember, all questions are good questions.
Enjoy!
Thank you for the nice forum! Firstly, I have been approached by an airline training school...Essentially, for $6k they will train you to get a flight attendant position. Some home study is required, then 4 weeks classroom at their location and finally 3 days at Delta's Safety Center. The manager of the school comes just short of guarteeing I will be hired immediately following graduation. He says they have classes averaging 48 students...every single one is hired on-the-spot at graduation!
In your experience...Does this claim sound true to you? I'm 51 years old!
I would be cautious with big promices unless they have direct contacts with personnel departments. I have been with my current employer for 17 years and have never heard of anyone that had gone through such a school. We were all hired directly from the airlines. Unless something has changed, I believe that I would ask for more proof and results from the school,
Michael

Re: Schools or not?
Thanks Michael...I guess the old saying holds true. "If it's sounds to good to be true, it probably is." They kept rushing me, asking for the initial deposit of $595 (nonrefundable) and extending the "deadlines" I had missed.
Finally, they just gave up!
I've got my fingers crossed...and toes, that someone will call.
Again, thanks for your reply.
Hi..Well its hard to believe you can be guarenteed a job, but its by all means possible. I'd find out with who he can place you with in advance. For 6k...that would be a minimum requirement. Its terrible out there now with all the majors. There's tons of threats of layoffs and paycuts.
I would see or apply directly with all the discounters at this point.
Jet Blue, Southwest, Frontier and ATA come to mind.
