WORD FROM TERRY COLDWATER IS THAT ANGLETON RACEWAY WILL OPEN SOMETIME IN MARCH OR MAYBE SOONER. THEY PLAN ON HAVING A BRACKET PROGRAM UNDER IHRA ALONG WITH STREET STOCK AND TEST AND TUNE. I WAS TOLD THAT SEVERAL OF THE REGULAR STAFF WILL BE BACK TO RUN THE SHOW, BUT POSSIBLY UNDER NEW MANAGMENT..I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED ON ANY OTHER INFO THAT I RECIEVE.
Hope that this is true. I always enjoyed the racing at ARP. Made a lot of friends there and hope to compete again this year. We sure don't need any more tracks to be lost!
I would like to reprint this question from a few weeks ago in an effort to get a Friday night street stock points program going at Angleton:
"Okay, after doing some research on the Angleton website, it is listed for a Street Stock program. Now, is this going to continue in 2007, and could it run like more than 5 events, say run on the first (*or optional first and third) Friday of the month for points starting in March and run through October? Just an idea, something to ponder, I would be extremely interested in this format. I might even drag out the old whatever it was that I used to race to get in this points program. Thanks for considering this idea. Hey if ya'll need a "poetential" sponsor for this, I might be able to drum up some support for this, let me know.
BJB"
Jack, the question is still asked, if you could shoot this idea to the powers at be, I would appreciate it!
Kinda late for me. I already signed up for the SSS at LSRP. I wish I had known about this last week. Hate to see the No-Box Champion not return. I will show up when I can. But probably not for points.
We are planning to have our first race of the 2007 season Friday, March 2.
We will have information on our 2007 bracket racing program soon.
Meanwhile, track management is looking into several track repairs. We hope to have the repairs accomplished by opening night. Check back with us in the upcoming weeks for more details!!!!
NANCY WAS REFERING TO THE SUMMIT SUPER SERIES, TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SUMMIT SUPER SERIES, THE TRACK MUST FRONT $500 TO JOIN. SHE WANTS TO KNOW WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED, WE KNOW SOME HAVE ALREADY SIGNED ON WITH LONESTAR.. WE NEED ABOUT 20 DRIVERS TO MAKE IT WORTH WHILE FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND....
I'll sign up for sss at angelton.Sure will miss the champ!! Sorry Bobby . I know you want to run for Angleton .Sure will be easyer with you on the couch !loll !!
Like Bobby, I have signed up with Sealy for the SSS, but I still will be at Angleton alot, Hope that the two don't set point meets on same time, and I want fight the Friday Night thing again this year every weekend.
Later
Murphy
None of our points races will be the same weekend as Lone star or Baytown unless they change their schedules. As soon as management gives me the okay I will post it.
Murphy, you can change your home track if you want ot. I am going to. I would rather run Angleton anyway, It has been my "home" track ever since they opened. I have on.y missed one bracket race there. That and I can't see running away after I won my first track championship there.
Bobby,
I will run at Angleton often, but I was running at Sealy long before Angleton open, and I have a lot will maybe a few friends at both tracks.
I have made my committment to Sealy and will stick to my gun. I still plan to have alot of fun at Angleton too. If Angleton had planned sooner, I would have joined.
Last year I join with Angleton, and almost missed out on the SSS because Angleton didn't sign up.
Not taking that change this year.
Now , my luck is Sealy want.
I just going to run every chance I get and have "FUN".
Later Buddy
PS
Thanks for the motor offer, but I will be ok.
