SSS X Number Registration

Ya'll don't forget to sign up for the Summit Super Series with IHRA if you want a chance at Jay and Chris's extra fuel money from IHRA at the end of the season .It's cheap and worth a grand for 1st and 500 for 2nd . Number is 419 660 4219 direct to Donna Harper with IHRA . I think Electronics is the same . Go get you some Sinister Suni ! HAMMER

Re: SSS X Number Registration

we use our track # here @ Evadale.havent used the X#s in 2 years.its $325 for 2nd.thats what i got last year.i will make a race in Angleton this year.

Re: SSS X Number Registration

Thanks Eric Wolford for the input . I was not sure about the payouts and was going by what I thought was correct . The one thing I am positive about is that on Thursday I did register for the Summit Super Series with IHRA and that we have to race with an X number at Angleton to be qualified for the extra payout . This is according to IHRA . This may be different for individual tracks in IHRA , but I am not sure . I am sure that we finished in 2nd place in foot brake and were not eligible for any amount of the SSS payout because we did not have an X number in 2008 ( Rounds won / raced matters ). Maybe Chris will chime in here and clear it up but my only message was to not miss signing up like we did in 2008 . Thanks again for your heads up. HAMMER

Re: SSS X Number Registration

The track can be an IHRA member track and NOT have SSS points. Angleton was this way in 06, when I won the track championship but could not race in the race of champions at the bracket finals. I am so glad that Angleton went to the SSS points format. It is $1000 to win and $325 to runner-up. I thin it is on $10 to get a SSS "x" #. Well worth it and you get your name in the DRM once a month. That will make you almost as famous and Scott Singleton, LOL.

Re: SSS X Number Registration

Eric is correct about the payout for second place in the SSS points. When I signed up in 2008 IHRA said I had to have a number with the letter "X" in it and since my number was V214 I had to change it to VX24. IHRA had to check records to make sure that number wasn't taken already. So unless things have chaged when you sign up for the SSS you will need a number with the "X" designation in it to show you are in the SSS. I also saw on the IHRA web site where Angleton's track designation letter has changed. I don't think those who already have an SSS number will have change but I will ask when I sign up for the SSS points. - Chris

Re: SSS X Number Registration

Don the money from IHRA went to the second place car per the SSS points. What I had been trying to say last year was that it is the SSS points that matter not the track points when it comes to the IHRA payout and the race of champions at the bracket finals. So occording to the rules the track champion also has to be the SSS points leader at said track to represent the track in the race of champions at the bracket finals. So I guess if you are the leader in track points, but not the track leader in the SSS points you are not eligible to run in the bracket finals race of champions. Therefor even though I may have finished 5th in the track points I finished second per the IHRA SSS points. I have asked around and some think it is IHRA trying to get people to run the Summit Super Series points and support the sponsor's program. Read the rules on the IHRA web site. - Chris

Re: SSS X Number Registration

Thanks for clearing the air Chris . I was able to get my son Eric the number 4x1g as we ran under 421g last year . Iven called me today and said what he did on the website already so I am up to speed now . I don't know where I got the 500 bucks but it was probably from Jay who doesn't know about 2nd cause he never seems to end up there , just first place . HA Jay ! Whatever happens it has come together for the track and racers for Sat Racing thanks to Staff . Lets get ready to rumble . HAMMER
