This is not going to be a Complaining Session or Gripping session. So I ask if your gonna get mad and bring an attitude leave it in the pit!!
You tell 'em Tim. Somebody's gotta be like a drill instructor there, for all of our sakes.
I think it would be a great idea to put all of the rules in writing and hand them out to the drivers at the gate and post them anywhere else they pass by or where applicable. Lots of new racers and racers with different habits are coming around and they definitely need to know.
Tim,
Courtesy staging is an IHRA rule and, as an IHRA track running an IHRA bracket program, I would hope Angleton would follow the sanctioning body's rules in order to be consistant with the IHRA bracket program rules. A meeting prior to the race is a good idea, but I believe handing out the rules, IHRA & track, on a flier would be more beneficial. There are a few rules i would like to see enforced off the track, like no one under 16 riding bicycles, driving 4 wheelers, carts, or scooters. No skateboard riding. No glass containers. You know common sense safety stuff. There are tator rules that need to be communicated also. On the light note there still needs to be more lighting on the top end and return road. While I realize the current wiring system will not support more lights, maybe the light company could extend the main service lines and install a second transformer and meter down track. This would add more than enough electricity for the down track lighting and the time slip booth. Maybe then they could put an A/C in the booth.

I SURE LIKE CLASS T/T ALSO. IT MAKES IT EASY TO FIGURE OUT WHO HAS THE BYE ,IF YOU WENT BY REACTION TIME IN 3RD T/T . LONE STAR DID THIS AND IT SEEMED TO WORK WELL FOR THEM. ALSO IF YOU CALL BYE CLASS YOU SET YOUR SELF UP FOR USEING A COLORED LIGHT SYSTEM TO CALL CLASSES. ONE CLASS HAS A BLUE LIGHT ON THE TOWER AND THE OTHER OR OTHERS HAVE DIFFRENT COLORS. FLICK'EM ON WHEN YOU CALL THAT CLASS. ONCE AGAIN LONE STAR USED IT BUT HELL IT WAS FOOL PROOF !! THATS HOW I LIKE THINGS!!!
There were alot of things Glen did for the bracket program that made sense, like 2 tech cards and the colored light system. On a different note, I will not be running this weekend so if you need some Track Tech 114 (Phillips B-33) give me a shout. I charge $8.00 per gallon.
