Rain on both weekends, but NHRA stuck it out and got it done.I understand not every body can stay that extra day,but they tried a little harder than IHRA. I totally disagree with the deceision that IHRA made for us to race each other and then the winner goes to a different track. It should have been done on another weekend with everybody that was still in. You hear statements like they got the money and ran,Which I don't believe, but why another track? Why not DALLAS Raceway on that NOVEMBER DATE.

I think it only took about 4 hours yesterday for NHRA to finish up the race.

I attended the managers meeting early Sunday mornin, Frank stated that Monday was'nt looking any better than Sunday weather wise, also at that point a lot of the racers had already left.

A return to Dallas Raceway was not an option for some reason, don't think Pine valley was available either, so Jerry Goss of Red line was kind enough to offer their track at no cost to IHRA for the run off race.

I agree this is not the best scenario, but under the circumstances, and a hour and a half of discussion it was probably the best solution to be had.

I'm sorry it had to turn out this way, The IHRA team finals are a lot of fun, Friday nite gamblers race was great, and I had a great time hangin with all my buds....

Jack is correct the finals are usally a good time, but I was amazed to find out that if you brake during the Friday night gamblers race, and cannot make the race for the next day, you have paid $60 to be a spectator. That is the answer I got from the lady IHRA rep when I tried to get my $60 back for the Saturday race. She said that the $60 was for racing the whole weekend. I asked her then why do we pay $50 to run the gamblers races if I paid $60 to race all weekend? Her response was that the $60 was for me and my car to be spectaors for the weekend plus the race on Saturday. I may not return next year due to the IHRA, I went to the 4th round Friday and got nada unlike Bobby Iven at the NHRA finals who got $100. At least she could have prorated me for not being there Saturday and Sunday. - Chris

Well they will get my 60.00 again next year as long as I make a team. Not too many races you can go to and get a refund when ya break though. Even with all the rain I had a great time. Looking forward to next year. See ya'll at angleton on the 31st

We will not be back next year! I do not like the 2 team BS and we went 5 rounds in the gamblers race and got nothing. We will be index and outlaw racing next year. Good Luck to All.

I went to have a good time and I did. Nice people and one hell of a nice track. I'm still not sure if this bracket racing is for me or not but it's still fun hanging out with you guys.

Well said Mike. They paid back to 16 cars in gamblers race. Anyway its all about having a good time,and I had one. Maybe next time no rain and 3 good days of racing.

I diden't make any money racing but had a hellofatime, and I will be ready to go back next year. IHRA all the way.

Chris, there was supposed to be 33 cars in the 3rd round, but some people couldn't stay for monday. I do know there was an even amount b/c I was supposed to get the bye and didn't. Don't know if there was 28,30 or 32 cars. But if there was 33, I would have only won 50. NHRA paid down to the 1/16th's for the first time this year.


We really missed being up there with you guys, but other stuff came up and we wern't able to make it. But kind of glad with all the b/s I have heard about that we didn't go.

I agree with both sides but I still think that IHRA has the better program with 3 days of racing with weather permitting.

What I do not like about the Gamblers and Jackpot races is the lottery. They make out like it is to give a couple of losing racers another chance but it is only to make tickets sales and mess up the payout schedule and put more money in their pockets. Just like Jay on Friday night he wore his car out going rounds and the lottery screwed him out of $250 I think he said. If need be they would have drawn ever how many tickets it took to do this.

That is just my $.02.

Both Mike and I had a great time at Crandall, I do wish that angleton could have had the run-off on a different day. Around here there are Children and Grandchildren that for some unexplained reason think we should do something else that evening.

George, the race should be over by 6.00 - 7.00, weather permitting....

Told mine I should be back to Tomball around 9 after I win the race, cause Jack knows how to run a race.

I didn't get to race this year, but had a great time taking care of all the drunks. Want call any names.
