HRP to host DragRaceHose.com Warm Up test session Mar. 5-7

Houston Raceway Park to hold March test session

BAYTOWN, Texas (Dec. 28) -- For the second year in a row, Houston Raceway Park will host the DragRaceHose.com Warm Up presented by Goodridge Hoses and Fittings, March 5-7, offering NHRA, ADRL, and IHRA teams a great chance to test their tune-ups at one of the quickest drag strips in the world.

"It's a perfect weekend for teams from drag racing's three biggest sanctions to come to Houston Raceway Park and test under what should be optimal conditions," said Seth Angel, general manager of Houston Raceway Park. "The track will be in perfect condition and the weather in early March is usually nice and cool so making horsepower won't be a problem.

"It was fun last year to see teams from NHRA, IHRA, and ADRL all run at the same time. I know from talking to drivers and crew chiefs they like to test alongside the guys they race at national events to see exactly how they stack up. When cars from all three sanctions are here there's even more to see. It's going to be a lot of fun."

NHRA Sportsman racer Will Hanna, who operates DragRaceHose.com, InsideTopAlcohol.com, InsideCompRacing.com, and InsideFastBrackets.com, worked with HRP officials to organize the test.

"The Angels have given us a great weekend to test," Hanna said. "It's one week before the season opener for the ADRL cars, so we expect a large number of Pro Mod cars to be there. It also falls between the NHRA races in Phoenix and Gainesville, so it will provide a nice option for NHRA teams as well. The NHRA races at HRP on April 9-11 and that's usually the first Division 4 race of the year also, so it works out for the Sportsman guys as well. Plus, I'm sure we'll see plenty of IHRA teams stopping by too.

"We had a great turnout last year; it exceeded all of our expectations. We plan to give the racers a very streamlined and organized event."
