Bobby , Pirelli has some 8 ply heavy bead truck tires that are radial for the same price as the junk trailer tires . You have to take the rims to discount as they will not put truck tires on the trailer because of DOT regs . They have a huge bead to keep them on the rim . Trailer tires have a super soft sidewall for the straight axle turns . I have a set on my 1998 trailer . My Goodyear 10 ply truck tires are on my 1995 trailer and still are in use today . Unless you like buying trailer tires every 2 years you should check it out . The soft sidewall is to keep them from unbeading . All trailer tires are top speed rated at 60 MPH . Check it out . Run 5 + years on a set instead of 2 . Dry rot from sun is all that kills the truck tires. Trailer tires die from bead distortion I will never buy another trailer tire . Look at ply and bead rating before you throw away that money . Later , HAMMER
I am probably going to trailer wheel and frame to get some. Have a friend up there that can get me some 235/85-16 for a good deal. If i take the trailer up there and pull the wheels off, I think they will not charge me to mount the new tires. Unlike discount.
Yes Bobby they are . Sorry to answer so late but with your lights you are probably used to being the last one to know . I can't stand myself , so sorry old friend ! HAMMER
