Unneccessary Behavior

I haven't posted on here in a long time. Todays behavior from grown adults was totally uncalled for. I'm the starter working my butt off trying to make a safe track for everyone to run their cars and I don't appreciate the unneccessary behavior from 3 grown adults that cussed and screamed at me. I so could have thrown you out of the track for unsportsman like conduct, but being the nice guy I am I didn't do that. I'm sure if there would have been another starter you would have been thrown out. Totally uncalled for, believe me I don't work there for the money or for my health, I work there because I want you to have a safe track to run your cars and I enjoy watching you run your cars. I could enjoy racing my own car that I use to do, so if you feel you can do a better job feel free to talk to Ricky Bell. No need to bash the race track, this is my post that I'm taking full responsible for so no need to talk bad about the track. I do want to thank the people that do appreciate what all I do.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

not much difference than the "head of staging" spitting cheeseburger out of his mouth while he "cusses and screams" at the CUSTOMERS.

keep in mind the CUSTOMERS don't do this for their HEALTH either.(this didnt happen THIS weekend, but it HAPPENED)

looks like alot of attitude work needs to be done..
first step is to get the track personnel to "RESPECT THE CUSTOMERS".

hopefully the cheesebuger spitting foul mouthed kid isnt working at angleton in 2010

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Terry, thanks for keeping the track safe for us.

From personal experience, when I was working at the National at HRP a few weeks ago, During down time, I would walk out on the track and pick up all kinds of little metal pieces of trash. I to was just keeping the racers safe.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

like i said im not talking about other things that has happened in the past, and no he does not work there. Sir i agree with you about the health concerns, as a starter i'm more exposed to it than you are. Like i said this is my post so direct your comments at me and not others or the track. Why will you not post your name. Like i said if you can do a better job post your name and i will take it to Rick and tell him you want the job. Thanks Bobby i knew that you would be one of the ones to step up and defend me.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

I appreciate you working hard for little or no money, but you should be doing this for the enjoyment. I guess I am one of those people you are talking about, but rules should NOT affect 10 year old kids. Every time down the track is a lesson for these kids. They don't need to be disqualified for BS. I could understand if they were racing for a high dollar purse, but come on. So while you were followin rules, I had a little 10 year old kid crying saying what did I do. Thanks for the hard lesson that did not have to happen.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

You must have not read my post very good because I did state I do enjoy watching everyone run their cars. I don't think a 10 year old needs to listen to such foul language you were telling me. If your going to enter the competition you need to know the rules, if not stay in test n tune. When you know the rules then enter in the competition. Had I let that go, I would have caught all kinds of crap from the other parents for not following the rules. Sir, I did try to talk to you reasonable, but you totally kept blowing up at me. I don't enjoy having to shut cars down, but when we are in competition I have to follow the rules. Next time can you be more polite and not so harsh, remember we are grown adults and that's not setting good examples for the young kids.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

The starter is the most powerful person at the racetrack, except for his boss.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Thanks Bobby for the great comment, but I think all positions are important to the race track. The racers are very important because no racers no race track. It takes all of us to be able to do this great sport that we love to do. Thanks again!!!!

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Terry, your doing a great job and don't change anything. More people have said that than you have heard.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Thank you Thomas for such a great comment. Glad to hear people care about what I do, that makes me feel good to know that. It's people like you why I still work there, you know what's all involved and the responsibilities. Thanks again!!!!

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Terry I think you and everyone at the track do a great job. Especially when you have to deal with everyone that goes down the track. Some people just dont understand all the rules and safety precautions taken to make sure we have a place to play and have some recreation. If people really want to get technical and the track employees went around inspecting peoples areas alot of people would be excused from the park for the activities they are doing. So people give Terry a break he does a good job.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Wow did I ever miss it!!! Terry you know what your doing so keep it up.I hope to see yall at one of the last races.Dont have internet at home anymore so will check in when I can.Bobby thanks for sending your friend to look at my car.I think he thought it was funny.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

Why do some parents always screw up a good time for the kids. If your kid broke the rules and wants to know why they were DQ'd be a good parent and explain the rules to them. Too many times I see parents tell the kids it isn't their fault they lost it is the stupid rules, umpires, or refs and not the actions of the person competing. Hmmm maybe that is why we have a whole society now of kids and young adults who can't or won't take accountabilty for their own actions. Rules are rules and laws are laws. It is time people started taking accountability for their actions and pass that on to their kids. My kids learned early on they are in control of their actions and thus the consequences of their actions.
Been awhile since I have been on here sorry it wasn't for something more positive.

Re: Unneccessary Behavior

I hate to hear things like this going on at Angleton, because it has always been a family and racer friendly place. At times it's just about safety for all at the facility ,, it's not personel. I think that a driver's meeting could be held before 1st round would help ! I never hurts to be reminded of the rules and just what is expected for both young and experenced drivers. Just a thought !
