Maybe I should have went bracket Racing.

Everyone knows how wild the mustang can get sometimes. I should have lifted this time too.

Made the trip to Navasota to run the 6.20 index. Not enough racers in the 6.60 or 6.20 class so we agreed on a 6.50 index. I was racing a faster car and was trying to make him break out in the semi's and the car got out of shape at the MPH cone almost crossing the centerling. I thought I could save it and ended up crossing the 1/8 mile marker on 2 wheels sideways running a 6.5@80mph. The car skidded along the gaurd rail nose first for another 200+ feet. It popped both right tires ruined the front rim and no one knew what kept it from flipping. Once the car stopped I set there for a second and snapped out of it when I heard the fuel pump running and shut everything off. I got out of the car and hit the kill switch. Damage is minimal to the body, but will get it out of the trailer tommorrow and up on jack stands and figure out what damange was sustained that was not obvious.

BTW I had all of my gear on I always wear. Just glad I didnt let the relaxed track rules get to me and not wear it. Not sure how long I will be down or if I am gonna part it out and sell it right now. My worst fear came true tonight when my wife and 6 yo son watched me wreck. Not gonna make a quick descision, but going to discuss this as a family.

Glad you are OK, Rex. Things do happen quite quickly and we're always glad that we have the safety equipment to get us through those times safely. Don't make a hasty decision that you will regret later. When I toatlled "Stubby" in 2005, I was looking for another ride the next day. Again, thankful for you being OK, the car can be fixed or replaced.

Glad you are OK. Cars can be replaced, family cant'.

I was involved in a pit accident a few years ago. Young kid acting a fool basically totalled out my Firebird. Luckily his insurance paid to get my car fixed. he was driving his girlfriends grandfathers Escort. Wrecked it pretty good also. And the next day, I broke my leg while working on my 38' trailer. Not a good weekend.
