Virginia bound for the Summit World finals

Well I'm sittin in a motel in Montgomery, Ala., been up since 5 am. I could'nt sleep, so I'm on my fourth cup of coffee.

I guess we are almost half way to Virginia Motorsports Park.. We drove about ten hours yesterday. Jays sleeping in a while, since he drove all day, and I'll keep him awake telling him all my old drag racing adventures.

I'm looking forward to passing through some mountain areas and seeing some pretty sceenery, trees should be turning gold and yellow by now.

Re: Virginia bound for the Summit World finals

Just got home late last nite (tues) @ 8.30 pm... did'nt bring back a world championship, But Jay did go to finals of the no/box bracketrace on Monday...took runner up on that one..

Had a great time, and Summit /IHRA treated us special from the get go.. VIP all the way . We got use of the tower suite and was fed good all weekend.. parked us on the asphalt next to the big boys, which was nice since it rained on friday all day..Got to meet a lot of racers and hung out with Brad Roberts and his family, Brad was the Pine Valley rep in top.

A very nice pre race ceremony was next, all Summit participants were paraded in front of the tower with the Top Fuel drivers and were each introduced to the standing room only crowd.

Sherrie Barbour of IHRA was there with us at all times, she said Angleton Raceway should be proud that they have sent a representative for the last three years.

Other than it getting behind on schedule by a couple of days due to rain and a ton of cars, It was a wonderful experiance all the way, hope we can do it again some day.

Oh yea, Jay and I dropped off his car in Mobile, Ala. at his uncle's home. He's going back tommorow to race at Montgomery Motorsports Park for a $20 grand footbrake race.

Congrates to the Summit ET World Champions for 2010.

Mod winner Chris Hall from Utah, and Chip Johnson from North Carolina in Top.
