My name is Johnny Sides and I'm the event coordinator for Navasota Raceway. Navasota Raceway is going to get serious about their bracket racing program in 2011. We will have a points system and a track champion. We are not sanctioned at this time but if our bracket program becomes successful that is something we are interested in doing for 2012. We will only have a no electronics class this year but that includes footbrake and transbrake cars. We will also have a street car division if there is enough interest. I will tell you one thing, "I am truely glad you sir stepped up and made a committment!" There is about 10 of us LOYAL footbrakers on Katy that WILL committ to your program in 2011. Not, to throw rocks but Sealy had the chance to stand up and they proved they are not serious. Besides "The Nasty" is only 20 miles away from Sealy !!!!
We do appreciate your help with getting the word out. I do understand the track is not in the best condition, but we are making improvements. The track has been open for about 3 years and so far the owner has not made a profit. My job is to make the track profitable. When that happens the owner has pledged to spend money to improve the track. I hope that happens this year.
