Lonestar

I am the General Manager at Lonestar. The track is not for sale as we use it for testing on a daily basis however we would however entertain leasing it and we do rent it for private events. Feel free to call me at 979-885-1300.

Re: Lonestar

So Hennesay still owns the track???

Re: Lonestar

Hennessey Performance which is Don & John own the track. We have also purchased the property next to it to build a road Course.

Re: Lonestar

So the rumors of a sale or new ownership shot down like a bird in season, so has our dreams of a 2011 bracket program at Lonestar

Re: Lonestar

I guess "Lonestar Raceway" got the WRONG impression when they threw a footbrake only bracket race months ago with no advertising, no marketing what so ever, just WORD OF MOUTH, and.....................................................................drum roll please.............................over 50 cars show up! WTF!

if you would have held a electronics race also you would have been well over 100 cars!...

DOES THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO ANYBODY???? ****, boys there are racers willing to spend some money! Is there no one out there that wants to collect it?

Its just a shame Sealy is so POPULAR and just going to waste! I guess yall got enough money!!!!

Money aint everything,....and money is not loyal like racers are,............dont forget it!

Like I said to the gentleman who I spoke with on the phone, we purchased and use the track daily during the week for testing. If you guys want to have an electronic race or a series we are all for it. We would be happy to either rent or lease the track out and even be interested in doing a revenue sharing deal. We have a great crew that loves to race running the track. Get a few guys together, get ahold of me and we can work something out. If you can bring 100 racers you can also make some money!

Re: Lonestar

Dave, we dont want run a track, we are racers, it's hard to do both successfully. We have invested our money in our race cars, trucks and trailers( entry fees) Now you want a group to run the track or build a program.. you or your group built a track. Promote and run it,, and we will come( a lot of us will come)!

Re: Lonestar

DONT SOUND LIKE THEY WANT "HEADACHES" OF RUNNING A TRACK

Re: Lonestar

From my conversation with Mr.Golder the other day, I understood that the dragstrip is used for them to test their performance cars that they build there at Hennessey. They do open the track a couple of times a month to anyone interested in TnT and also have a jackpot bracket race.

He did say that they would be interested in renting the track to someone or a group to put on a bracket race. I do think that the racers would show up, it's just a matter of finding someone with the finances and a game plan who would rent the track. This is something that would need to be planned out and promoted to get the word out to all the racers.

I also understand that they put out a lot of performance cars in a years time and do not have the time to operate a dragstrip on a weekly basis and have a bracket/ race program.

Anyone interested? Give Dave Golder a call please.979-885-1300.

Re: Lonestar

I am going to buy a large track of land, a ton of rides like roller coasters, dungeon drops, a 10 story water slide, the best of the best in entertainment. basically I am going to build a state of the art amusement park that people from around the state to come and enjoy....................................................................BUT,..yall can*t come! Nope it is just for me and my two children

Yall can drive by all you want, you can see my park from the road and dream about coming in and having fun,..BUT,,,,,I ain't letting yall play!!!!!

uuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????????

Re: Lonestar

I didn't see anywhere in the above messages that says "no one can come and play". I read that they open for TnT, etc. I can understand their stand.....they are not bracket racers.....they build performance cars. They probably work all week building and testing their cars, and are likely at other venues during the weekends where their cars are being run. I get from reading the other posts that they are open to having 'bracket races', they just aren't ready to invest their time on running the races themselves. Maybe the guys that want to race there could get together and form a plan on how they could present a program to the owners. Like Jack said, give them a call. I remember when a couple of racers got together and ran the Angleton track several years ago.......maybe the same type of arrangement could be done to get a bracket program going at Lone Star.

Re: Lonestar

mr. Selfish, are you gonna have any ponys at your amusment park? I dont think these guys give a rats azz if you race there or not. They were nice enough to offer the bracket racers an opertunity to race at their track by renting it,Strickly business.

Take some of the money your gonna spend on that amusment park and lease the track.lol

But PLEASE, lets not show the mgn of LSMP what idiots some bracket racers can be.. enough of the bed time stories already.

Re: Lonestar

Just a thought on the Sealy track. I remember in the not too distant past, after purchasing the track, the owner was trying to get it established. After spending quite a large sum of money on expansions,he made a post about not wanting dogs at the track. This resulted in pages of negative posts complaining about everything from pets, to VHT, to the mans family. I can only assume that he responded by saying the hell with it. (note there is not a message board on Lonestars Web page anymore) It seems to this uneducated racer that this is the hurdle that has to be overcome before there will be a bracket program at Sealy. Also Racers should be puting this in their lessons learned file.

Re: Lonestar

Is this the same Lapp that had a mud track back in the day?

Re: Lonestar

A GOOD TRACK GONE TO WASTE!!!!!

If I remember right, the guy that made the bad comment about not coming b/c he couldn't bring his dog is no longer racing. We have a dog that we like to take places, but rules need to be enforced and we can leave ours at home. He can hold "it" for quite a while while we are gone racing.

Re: Lonestar

Let the past stay there. I know a lot of us would like to have a full bore bracket program at LoneStar. For it to be sucessul it MUST be a constant. Somthing that is on the schedule no less than once or twice per mth. so people will put it on a calender and make the trip. A once in a while race , with no pre promotional buzz, will be a disaster. If we can count on the track, you can count on a large turn out of racers.

I think I would have just cleaned up some dog **** instead of loosing my ass on a bunch of costly improvements,JMHO

Re: Lonestar

Like was said earlier, our priority in the track is testing our own cars. I will be at Barrett Jackson all next week but if you guys want to all come out and sit down and throw some ideas around with a revenue share deal or straight rental lets sit down and come up with some ideas. We can do last week of January or first week of Feb. We are up for anything, I have a great crew to run the track to do anything or any type of event we want to run. It just has to make sense.

Re: Lonestar

I JUST WANNA KNOW WHY YALL ARE IHRA TRACK IF YALL DONT HAVE A BRACKET PROGRAM OR DO ANYTHING?

JUST WONDERING
